Read a lot about the dependability issues with after market CV's.
I did a total rebuild of the IFS in April with all new Toyota parts except for SPC uppers and SuperPro bushings everywhere.
Doing a little Christmas shopping with the wife yesterday and the front pass tire sounds like its coming off. Pulling hard into parking spaces, to the stops, the CV sounds terrible. Only at the extreme limits, only pass side.
I know a "bad" new part happens from time to time but this would be the first time I've had a bad Toyota part. Anyone else had early failure with an OEM CV?

Toyota does have some issues from time to time with parts. They have warranty's, I think its 12 month. They are especially willing to warranty stuff if the dealer installed the item.

A quick look at the snap ring and wiggle and rotation test of un-weighted wheel may be revealing.

I did the install. Haven't done any bearing work, on the list for this summer. Might have just moved up on the priority list. The snap ring keeps popping into my thoughts also. Actually a nicer day today, I'll go drop the tire and check. Its either work on the Cruiser or Paint a room.

Snap ring is good. No extra play in either wheel (up/down or side/side), +/-5deg of rotation in the wheel before the other rotates. Checked with both front and just Pass side in the air. CV didn't make a sound and seemed perfectly smooth. No tire rub anywhere. Only makes the noise while slowly rolling on hard right turn. Turning stop to stop on dry pavement sitting still, nothing.
