Hey, im doing some research on the BXD30's and might be interested in buying one in the near future. Are there part catalogs availible? What engines / gearboxes did they come with? I came across this on youtube and saw it was left hand drive, were these ever exported as lhd versions? is there any other toyota / hino that shares the chassis?

Hello. Unfortunately 15b-ft engines come with older model of megacruisers. What we have is newer type, they come with 15b- fte.
@theglobb, you might like the FTE better for your truck since you drive into the mountains a lot. The E will add fuel adjustment on the fly for heat and elevation which means less tuning you have to do each time you go from school to home.

@BreckenridgeCruiser I want to get my hands on a BFTE because Mick Wallin in Australia has developed a 15BFTE stand-alone wiring harness. I have two of his 1HDFTE harnesses and this is the direction I want to go on my 40 swap…15BFTE with a front mount in a 40.
@bottombracket That would be so cool. I have a turboed 1HZ in my 44 and there is very little room for a front mount. Also the 40 series rad is maxed out on cooling ability with my setup so I need to upgrade to a super cooling rad.

That does sound pretty sweet! I despise electronics though... when they work, they are amazing, and when they fail it's such a painnnnnn. I bought an old Isuzu box truck for 2k a while ago and am in the process of swapping the engine into the Red Rocket right now, fully mechanical diesel! Much cheaper than any 15B variant I could get, just a lot more work and not as cool :/
If only we could register these mega cruisers for the road

Well my engines arrived today. Unfortunately one is an FTE. The ac brackets I paid $600 for are also just some compressor cores.

I think I remember reading the FTE version is mechanically stronger (internals) and improved in a number of ways over the FT version.
Maybe you can source a FT mechanical injection system for your FTE engine? Megacruiser FT pump is a Denso VE4/12F1725RND110 I think. If you can find someone who killed their engine but injection system is ok?
Personally I wouldn't mind the FTE version, but I'd want one totally complete with all wiring components/ECU etc. I'd also like to buy one with A443 and t-case from megacruiser, so it's an easy swap to 70 series.
