Towing an RV - do I need a Transmsission Cooler?

nnnnnate, thanks for the post. My wifey is not an "outdoors" person either ... but she does want to "go".
I'm content on hanging around the house. I was thinking we could find something like RV-ing and enjoy it.
That along with our dog who is so attached we can't bear to board her. Around here also I have learned
that the popular campsites are booked up during the peak months and you need advanced reservations.

Definitely would rent a TT for a week if we had that around here.

BTW, what is RTT? Is that Roof Top Tent ????

I assume the attached photo is the Transmission Cooler.
If so, wow, its as big as some car radiators.

That is what I am afraid of -- not liking an RV.
I'm trying to keep the length to under 21' and weight under 3500#.
I'll have to consider pop ups too.

You can explore other places all with the comfort of hot and cold running water, HBO and none of the hassle of renting a camper and figuring out how to tow it without grenading your tow vehicle.

I pull a 16 foot 3500 lb Livin Lite Camplite RV and the 100 does fine. I use an Andersen weight distribution hitch for sway control, electric brakes on both trailer axles controlled by a Tekonsha P3, and I stay in 4th gear which keeps the torque converter locked up almost all the time (Heat is generated when the torque converter unlocks, which happens a lot in 5th.) I also tow at 55-60 mph and get just over 10 mpg consistently. The trailer is 7 foot wide, which means I don't need towing mirrors because the OEM mirrors work fine for that width. Wide mirrors are needed for the 8 foot wide trailers, IMHO. If my RV were any longer, wider, heavier, or had any more tongue weight, I'd be towing with an appropriately setup pickup truck.

It's the Livin Lite Camplite 16TBS. Mine is a 2015 model. They are all aluminum with no wood so if you find a used one you don't have to worry about rot or mold.
