Well, I have joined the ranks of the diesel truck owners. All thanks to Deryl, he made one phone call to a friend and then one call to me........SOLD!! So, I am the proud new owner of a 2005 F250 Super Duty Crew Cab with the turbo diesel. This truly was a deal I couldn't pass up, a little more than I wanted to spend but all in all I think a good investment. I pick it up in the morning. Here is a pic from the dealership website. More pics to follow after I get it cleaned up.

Dude....Can I borrow your truck?

Nice looking truck, when are yall painting it yellow?:D

Congrats on the new tow rig Mike

Thanks guys. Drove her home this morning. Gotta get used to the diesel. Gonna have a mechanic go over it with a fine tooth comb and give me the skinny on it. Larry, you scared me with your 6.0 comment and I was up all night reading horror stories. Gonna see what the mechanic says and then make a decision on what my next step is. And if the paint wasn't such a nice color, I might have painted it to match Hachi......but I'm not that guy. ;)

Sorry bud I didn't want to be the negative guy. I hope you got a real gem that don't give you any trouble. It looks like it was well cared for and sure is clean. I posted that comment when you were looking because thats the same thing I was told when I was looking. There are some good reads on the forums on how to fix the common failures like the injectors, EGR cooler, head studs I looked hard at them myself because there were some good deals out there on some nice 6.0 trucks. Get you a pair of those big nuts to hang from the back because you ain't skeered :cheers:

Thanks Larry. That's a great article. I am still a little leary on this purchase but am feeling better about it after driving it a little today. When the engine is cold, it hesitates when you step on the gas but once it warms up, she purrs like a........loud kitten. :D The only other real issue I found was today on the way back from Deryl's shop, it didn't seem to want to shift into overdrive. I was turning 2k RPM's at only 70mph. Don't know what that's about but I guess I will find out soon enough.

And Larry, I didn't take your comment as negative, just informative. I had to move fast on this deal and I guess that was the problem. I was unable to do the research prior to the purchase and that was my fault. But after reading that article, it makes me feel much better. :D

Not 100% positive but 70mph at 2000 rpm doesnt seem wrong to me. I think thats about right! At 80 is it around 2500rpm?

On another note just relax every time that truck burps or does anything you are going to be concerned. Not saying there might not be an issue, but I have not seen one yet. It drives, sounds, pulls, rides and black smokes like every ford f-250 I have been in. Pulling 7000 pounds today it pull it like it should have. It is not going to be your company car or ever drive, ride or sound like your fj cruiser. :censor::censor: I hate to say this but you and I are alike. :bang: You made a quick purchase without thinking it thru, reading it thru, or studying for hours on the topic. So you are second guessing your purchase. Calm, down breath and get the damn truck waxed and take it o SCC. If it doesnt perform as you want or like then dump it. At the price you paid it should be easy. Like I also say I may buy it from you. I aint scared! :flipoff2:

my brothers company has had better luck with them than the chevy , dodge and them have been the ticket for them just not the f450 m/t the clutches would come apart
