Torsion bars; pretty sure I'm cranked all the way up and I'm still 1.5 lower in the front than the rear. I'm planning on getting some 865 springs, that means I'm gonna have to re-index my torsion bars correct?

And where have you found the cheapest prices for replacing all your sway bar and end link bushings? Go OEM or something else?

Thanks

yeah you need to re-index. Make sure you mark your torsion bars with a paint line or marker on both sides prior to your work to make sure you do not put the key back in the same exact position like someone I know.......that someone was me :bang:. this will make a huge difference.

yeah its pretty easy, just requires some large wrenches or large ratcheting kit. Jack up the truck of the ground, loosen the torsion bar large bolts, then loosen the front 2 bolts on the torsion bar, keep in mind you can slide the front mount onto the bar and rekey it, the front mount doesn't actually need to come off the torsion bar, but this can get confusing with putting it back in the same position, so marking them is key!

This is all the adjustment I made and it had huge results.

So you rotate it clockwise for the driver side and counter clockwise for the passenger? You turned how many clicks?

correct. I believe it can only move 1 position, I tried two, but then it was too much to be able to get the bolts to line up, even with the rear adjustment as loose as possible, but still threaded.

Can you clarify the "keep in mind you can slide the front mount onto the bar and rekey it, the front mount doesn't actually need to come off the torsion bar" please? Doesn't the front mount have to come off of the bar to rekey it?

it does not actually need to come off. You can slide the mount back onto the bar itself since the bar is thinner than the end keyed part of the bar, this is much easier than fussing with trying to get the mount completely off and on in a tight space. so once the tension has been removed from the torsion bar, and the nuts have been removed from the front mount, the front mount can be slid back towards the back of the vehicle so that the front mount piece is still around the torsion bar around the skinnier part. You may need to tap the torsion bar/ front mount to break them apart, but its pretty easy to separate them once they do not have tension.

Can you take pics when you do this? This is on my todo list. Thx!
