Updated List:

  1. Blue Mule resto in Malawi Why? Shipping parts into Southern Africa... somewhat inept help... revolution... the Wild... will it make it back to the States in one piece? Great story!!!
  2. Roma's 78 fj40 gets a refurb Why? Great build and awesome adventures in Western USA National Parks... great pictures!
  3. Help needed FJFJFJ / 1962 FJ40 44K ORIGINAL MILES Why? 1962 corrugated top barn find... to Museum piece... literally. Very good story, to include some eBay drama right at the end! Likely the most "correct" restoration of an early 40.
  4. destins 1964 fj40 FST restore thread Why? Excellent well-documented (and long!) restoration. Some nice trips right at the end of the piece... where are you now Destins???
  5. 3 days and 3300 miles later Why? The rot! And the skill to bring a basically dead 45 to life! A master at his craft...
  6. Mission Impossible......My 74 Build up by a Top Gun Land Cruiser builder :)Why? Hunting, Building, Drinking, Floods, 2 year build, curses galore, and then… noooo!
  7. My 1976 FJ40 "Kit Car" Why? You start with a placard (literally)... and end up with a jewel! All piece-meal one purchased / procured part at a time! Very good read... mad skills.

Honorary Mention:
'77 FJ40 buildup in Charlotte (finally) The Highlights: V8, double shifter AT... and the workmanship!
Saving The Old Rustbucket--My 1982 FJ40 Tale This would have been #1... if it only had been completed. The storytelling is impeccable. Frankly, better than a book. Seriously!

Honored to be mentioned. There are so many really great resto and rescue stories here, it is hard to pick just 10 ;). The Blue Mule story would never have happened without all the great support and help MUD members provide.

At least it's nice to be on the reading list. I'm not much of a story teller.
But my next project is going to be a lot more detailed. And interesting. :) going to be kicking that one off after the first of the year. Biggest project I've done so far!

The ICON has got nothing on it... (even powered vents???)... not quite completed yet (a wedding may get in the way)... but already deserves to be here! We're not worthy... Nasty good...

Matt's LV thread hooked me first. That should be added to the list as well.

Awl_TEQ's thread on his bj42 is a great one for rolling restorations.

And how could we forget Uglina!?

Jadcruisers 1968 FJ40 resto needs to be on that list also.

Wow, never expected such an honour. All credit though must go to the combined knowledge of folks right here on MUD. Without them showing how to and what can be done to a 40, I would never have attempted this - turned out to be a true life changing experience for me !

I want to vote as many times as possible for Jetrangers build up.
That is what I think Toyota should have built and sold as the FJ Cruiser (though with coil suspension).
