Noticed when the engine is at temp this top radiator hose has a small leak.

Question. Do I replace the hose or clamp or both?

I like those clamps. They are constant compression; so I'd just change the hose.

Silicone hose will handle heat for longer before deteriorating and the cost difference for longevity might be worth it.

Change the hose, clean the end of the nozzle before you install.

Reuse the clamp.

Buy Toyota hoses

Do NOT use silicone hoses. They are known to fail in two years or less.

Agree, like the factory clamps. That hose is oil effected, fix the leak that is putting oil on it.

First, repair the oil leak which has compromised the present hose
Then change hose and reuse original constant tension clamp

How ancient is the radiator? From the pic glimpse, it looks like a ticking bomb.
While you're in there do the lower hoses, heater hoses, phh, throttle body hoses, thermostat, and maybe the head gasket

So in ten posts we have gone from a seeping radiator hose connection to preemptive head gasket replacement. That escalated quickly.

What else did you expect from mud? Everything leads to the headgasket - either it has failed or it is going to so better replace it. I change mine with every oil change. Pretty sure that was the recommended replacement interval here on mud. :)

I try my best to follow my own guidance of replace the hose and replace the clamps.

These clamps did the best they could over 20+ years, time to give them a rest.

Silicon are not as good as OEM, or Gates is much better, you can take my set. I yanked it out after a few months

I would stay away from Silicon

Care to elaborate on the issues you had? I also don't know what HPS is. Maybe I'm just old now, but I'm used to Samco Sport for high temp application.

This is ih8mud.

The proper way to fix a leaking hose is to replace your thermostat, radiator, water pump, fan clutch, phh, rear heater hoses, heater control valve, oil pump seal, distributor o ring, front crank seal, spark plug seals, valve cover gasket, oil pan arch seal and head gasket. Sorry if I missed something.

One of the main rad pipes got deformed in the elbow. If Toyota pipes worked for 20 years with no problem its good enough for me
So it was a metal pipe that got deformed, but you don't like the silicone hose that attached to it? I guess I'm lost on this.

My bad. This is a bad translation from Hebrew we have only one word for both pipe and hose. What got deformed was silicone hose look like collapsed under vacuum and blocked the flow of the coolant
