I had them rotate my tires on my LX470, the car never lowered back down after that, it looks like from reading it is a sensor.

Here is my question, do i put fault on jiffy lube for not turning the suspension off before lifting it? Or is this something that was already broken, car was running PERFECT prior to being lifted.

Thanks

Check to see if one of the front sensors is mangled, if it is I would put it back on them. I don't see how they could hit the rear one.

Why would you go there?
It was a basic oil change, took my own filters, and i had them rotate my tires.... Never had an issue until this, which again my question is, is this even something they should be at fault for or was it going to happen anyway.

Have they done this exact service you describe several times prior with no ill results?

Way too much tribal knowledge out there regarding the antics of lube places and the such. Good luck proving one way or the other... Sorry you're dealing with this.

For everyone else, let this be a lesson. Changing your own oil at the very least is a reason to climb underneath and eye ball other sh it, cv, joints, everything...learn your vehicles... and leave the rotating to discount or the like.

Sorry to pile on, but those places - like Jiffy Lube - can do an amazing amount of damage just doing "a basic oil change"...
- Impact wrench to tighten drain plug (personal experience, netted new oil pan for me and a new shirt for the "technician")
- Wrong oil
- Wrong filter (glad you brought yours)
- Draining, but forgetting to refill the oil
- And the most common risk... not actually doing a damn thing! Yep, these guys have been busted sooooo many times charging for work they don't even do. Arguably, that is better than having them proactively damage stuff ;)

X100. I learned my lesson very early on when I was 17 and had a Jeep XJ that I had just installed a K&N filter in probably 3 days before I took it to them for an oil change. They came to the waiting to room with a disgustingly dirty and dusty (like rocks falling out of it) air filter, and said hey man do you want us to change your air filter? Look how dirty yours is! I was like oh really that one there is mine huh? The guy looked at me right in the eye and said yep I just pulled it out of there myself, but you're in luck we have your size in stock it will only take a minute to change. I said, ok you can change it if you can show me there's no air filter in my truck right now. Of course he wouldn't let me back there because of "insurance", so I demanding they not touch my truck. He asked me why, and I explained to him that I had just put in a new filter myself and that neither I nor anyone in my family or anyone I knew would ever be back there again. I also filed a complaint with the BBB and wish something like Yelp existed back then.

We had 5 cars in my family that went there religiously, and I went straight over to an auto parts store and bought a Haynes manual for each car/truck we owned and have never been back to a shop for an oil change since with the exception of a leased vehicle I had (always took to the dealership so they'd see I serviced it). I wouldn't mind using a trusted independent mechanic like Slee or the like, but Grease Monkey, Jiffy Lube, and the like are basically disasters for your car. About a decade before I met my girlfriend, she was getting her Camry worked on in a Grease Monkey when the ground shook and a guy started screaming. Apparently they managed to drop her Camry off the lift and it fell about 4' onto someone crushing him, nearly killing him and totaling her car. Everyone I know who has ever used a quick oil change joint has a terrible story, so please, please don't take your truck there any more!! PS - sorry for the rant :D

I think it's because you call your 100 truck a "car"...

It's a pink panty truck, but still a truck...

:)

Back to the OP question; Truck perfect before lifting at JL + truck screwed up after lifting at JL = JL did the screwing.

will do, its only the rear end that wont lower.
Check for damage on/around the rear height sensor bracket. It could have been used as a grab bar or similar when it was on the hoist. Sensors fail, but too much of a coincidence for the failure occurring with their "work".
To clarify, when you say "rear won't lower", are you saying the front height is normal and the rear is much higher now?

Make sure they didn't "top off" the AHC fluid with washer fluid. Have the fluid tested if possible. I think I read somewhere that somebody else had this happen to them and it was a $$$ fix.

Thanks for you reply, i really should have named the thread, any issues after lifting your

exactly, the rear is at max height and the front it totally normal and will move up/down with the controls.

There is nothing good that starts with the sentence "Took the car to Jiffy Lube and ...". Some other notables:

- "I was cleaning my gun and..."
- "I had super glue on my fingers, then had to go to the bathroom and..."

That darn AHC again...;)

Good luck. I think that luck is all those folks at Jiffy Lube have in getting a repair or the simplest maintenance completed properly.

I doubt those fools have any technical training to speak of for a complicated truck like the 100 series.

Off topic, but that brings to mind the old rhyme..."This is my rifle, this my gun" etc.

took it to the dealer and they did a fluid change, all sensors were working they said, got the LX back and it ran perfect for a few days, then one morning the rear was jacked up in again... good times

Mine did that on a 2004 LX I owned in KC. Went out in the garage and the butt in was up in the air. Drove it to Lexus had the 3 year 100k CPO warranty. They changed the rear sensor because it was corroded, said it was common in the Midwest. Took 15 minutes.
