I think I would get heckled to the point of no return.

Ran into a snag last night. Looked at the rear u-bolt plates and they were cracked and the front were bent. I could weld them and straighen them but I want to make sure they were solid and I could get good torque. So I think to myself "Self this isn't a problem you have some up in the loft of the garage" Well I couldn't find two that matched the rear. So I bid on a used set of SOR skid plates on ebay and they got to the point were it wasn't worth picking them up used. I thought about doing the MAF 4+ u-bolt flip kit but they are $$$$. Then I find a thread on Mud where the guy who makes them for MAF. Looks like I might be getting a set from him.

Lcwizard is his username on here. He's knowledgeable and is an excellent fabricator from what I've seen here.

Blasted the bumper and bellhousing with my last bag of sand.

SO I took my Yaris in for an oil change at Tarbox Toyota. Yes, its not worth the effort to get rid of the used oil.. Anyway, the tech wrote on my slip that I need a new serpentine belt. I said, really? After only 3 days? The guy looked at me confused. I said, dude, I just put a new water pump and serpentine belt on it 3 days ago. You should fire the tech that wrote that on my slip. All of the other customers in the waiting room giggled. I took him outside and showed him the pump and new belt. He felt dumb but I'm sure the tech will still have a job tomorrow.

Wow...... I take my truck in for oil changes too as its easier and cost the same. I would have asked the tech to show me. I don't think that I would have left it at that point. I think I would have taken it all the way up to Ed Tarbox. Hell the guy wants to be know as service oriented to the point where he was putting his cell phone number in radio ads. Or email him edtarbox@tarbox-toyota.com

Jason, you should go to Wal Mart and buy the cheapest, tallest dome tent they make. In one of the corners, cut a hole. Do your blasting in the tent, and when you're done pour all the junk into the corner and then into a 5 gallon bucket.

Dropped off my truck this week at Extreme Auto in Upton. The guy who owns it is Brian Lozeau and and used to work as a welder for Caterpillar on military jobs. He re-did my body mounts, cut out all the rockers and welded in some 2x4 box steel and tied them to the frame. Short money and fixed alot of problems. It fixed 80% of the rattles and noises while driving. Definitely recommended!

looks nice john.. can we see some pics from underneath to see how he tied them in? did he cap off the ends?

you should continue that look into the rear of the truck with a custom rear wrap around bumper..

THEN YOU SHOULD WHEEL IT!!:bounce2:

welding. I had him weld the tube in sideways to mimic the rockers. Not 100% sure I'm happy on the look of them but will be easy to cut and turn them sideways. The rockers/sliders are tied in at the body mount. New body mounts came out great as it was basically the body just rattling around on the frame. Very happy with the work overall and very, very happy with the price.

The mount in the 1st pic here was the worst one and looked like swiss cheese

Those don't look to have enough support to hold up the weight of the truck while on a boulder.

They are mainly for aesthetics. If I get that high on a rock, I'll likely roll over or take the roof off on a tree. This will be a stock run truck and not a hardcore rig. Too big and bulky to fit thru the trees of NH. Will certainly be enough to slide over some bits and pieces

Took winch apart and found a pinched wire between 2 of the solenoids.
Rerouted it and the winch worked fine. Have to pick up some connectors
and make up a new one.
Continued cleaning the SBC. Making up a list of parts etc needed for the swap.

Sweet look!

Got my curiser painted yesterday, picking it up today. All I got is a pic from the cell phone for right now.
