I actually got some time to work on the 40 and have spent the last 3 days stripping it and getting it ready for the tundra motor.

Broke out the plasma cutter and removed the rusty floors...best tool to have

I have full front floor if you need one.

Thanks for the offer, thats awesome but an original floor wont fit right any more. The transmission is longer and will be sitting higher, so I will need to make some custom floors. And I really want to go with thicker 3/16 steel like the back was redone with. The 3/16 is way over kill but It will take a really long time for that to rust through :)

3/16 on the quarters will add protection. I really think for floor 1/8 would be more than enough.

Here is Kenny putting on some new Rocky Road Outfitter sliders this afternoon. Hopefully it will be the last driveway wrenching. New house with a 26 X 40 workshop by the end of the week.

How long did he have to wait for them? I had thought about buying a set before I searched them on Mud.
They seemed affordable and stout.

When are the new rates to be released for your new storage space?

I think he waited a couple of weeks. They seem pretty nice. I don't know how much space I will have after my projects I have been collecting for the 40 and 80.

HA HA I was jk.
I am going to hold off for now on picking up a 40.
Unless some sweet deal comes my way.

half way done SOA the rear end of Wilma. figures I don't have the right shackle bushings :(

ya 40 series rear. I think 40's had the same front and rear but 45's hada smaller front . anyway I just ordered from SOR 289-44-C
5/8" diameter
1 3/8" outside
.125 shoulder
i have some mixing and matching of leafs to do its a bit high right now but I do like it

I got mine bushings thru amazon, much cheaper than SOR and a larger choice

Wish i had known about amazon but they weren t too bad price wise and i know what is coming will work. That said i am not a fan of sor's prices and am always lookin for alternatives
Here are some crappy phone pics of how she sits right now a bunch of tinkering still to do

I ordered my clutch, flywheel and slave cylinder from Amazon. Prices were close to rock auto but free shipping on most items.

I've been going thru Advanced Auto. Look the part #s up on line then go to the store and
pick it up. Been in there enough now so they are a bit more helpful.

Finally finished the Bead Locks

It sure is a lot of work to mount a set of Bead Locks if your going to drive it on the street.(over 10 hrs invested)
I first had them Spin-Balanced and I also added Dyna-Beads.
I might do a complete write-up on this w/ Pics and video, it would have been real helpful when I started.
I'm Cruisen @ 70-75 Smooth....I usually stay 60/65 tops, but for testing vroom,vroom :grinpimp:
It was nice to just get out for a drive,:steer: great day,JANUARY can u believe it.

Haven't started wrenching yet, but doing the research. FJC master cylinder is failing. Seems there is some experience with this failing after utilizing the ABS in a panic stop. I had a panic stop during that freak early morning icing all over the state a couple weeks ago, and now the first 20% of the brake pedal does nothing. Anticipate it getting worse, so putting together my plan. Sheri found me the FSM online for free so that helps. The part is ...... $1000, which does not help. Very disappointed this has failed at 43k miles.

All this right after I delivered the 72 FJ-40 to my mechanic last week to replace its ...... booster/master cylinder. (Could have done that one myself but let the garage work it since they have never hassled me on inspections for the HJ and FJ.) This has been an issue ever since we bought this truck.

And did I mention my motorhome has been out of commission and sitting in storage for the last two years due to ...... no brakes.
