Guilty!! Been there, learned that too. Also, 12 year old trailer tires cannot be trusted, regardless of tread depth :D

That reminds me. I bought the tires pictured above (supposedly) new from a tire shop in durham about three years ago, but they have a date code of 2006.

TIL also, when you buy tires, make sure to check the date codes to ensure that they are in fact NEW.

Similar issue when a used 2017 Ford F-150 I bought...20k miles, good tread, was stock brand/model didn't think anything of it. Tires mfg date in 2006 and chunks started ripping off after 5,000 miles exposing belt. Fortunately Carmax did the right thing and paid 1/2 for a set of BFG all terrains. Lesson learned though for future...

Today I learned that there's now a MUCH better chance that Johnny will get to CRR without a trailer tire blowout.

So to clarify, those tires were off of laura's car, not my trailer, although my trailer will also have new tires for CRR

Today I learned that the 2F engine cannot be successfully converted to an air-cooled model....

Tried to save some time to do other things today by dropping the truck off for a radiator flush. Picked it up and drove the 1 mile home and the temp gauge was skyrocketing to the red zone. Started trouble-shooting all the "logical" culprits and then had a moment of "nah, there's no way". Carefully removed the radiator cap and my suspicions were confirmed...not a drop of coolant in the system.

I went back and informed the shop of their mistake and was told I could drive it back so they could fill it...."nope, not gonna happen; find a clean container junior". I drove one of the techs to the truck and had him finish the service in my driveway. Nice kid, not his original assigned work order so not his fault, but we had a good chat about running a vehicle more than 5 minutes to check the operating temp.
