Is anybody a TLCA member? As for buying stuff to outfit your rig, are there real savings for members? To be specific - I'm looking to save on some tires.

tires, probably not. But you might look at joining a local Chapter of TLCA, often they have relationships with vendors in the area that can save you money.

Not really.....but local chapter for friendship and help when working on your rig....but I personally think the magazine is worth the cost of TLCA membership ALONE!!!!

Sparks Toyota gives discounts to my club members.....and our local Toyota independent shop tries to help out members on repairs and parts. It all comes around if you are willing to do your part and help as well....

So an actual dealership offers discounts? Wow. Probably not on everyday stuff like oil changes and the like, huh? I presume the only way to know for sure is to call the dealer.... There are # Yota dealerships in here in BR, so maybe my chances are good.....

I always check the dealership website before I go in for an oil change. They always have a special. Usually pay 25.00 with coupon.

cool stickers.

x2. I've never seen any specific deals locally regarding my membership. It's a requirement for local club membership and they produce a great magazine with good stories and tech.

There is definitely nothing "100 series Tech" related to the benefits of membership. You may want to post up here.

Maybe not for discounts on tires for outfitting your rig, but there are still many advantages of being a TLCA member and discounts associated with your membership as well.
one being that you do get a subscription to Toyota trails, with that magazine there are many tech talks and product reviews that will better inform you on what products are worthwhile purchasing.
It also helps you connect with a group that supports your interest.
It also is a requirement to many sanctioned TLCA events across the country.
Also to echo what others have said, linking up with a local club is a great way to get discounts from local vendors and club supporters.

I think the back page in Toyota Trails lists all the venders that offer discounts to members...

There is a matrix chart in Toyota Trails that lists all the businesses that support TLCA and TLCA members in one form or another. It shows what they do to support TLCA: offer discounts to members, host chapters, sponsor events, donate schwag to events and chapters, etc.

Personally, if your weighing this decision on what your going to get in discounts then you will probably be disappointed. Its not really about "what you get". Its more about lifestyle or addiction relationship. Seeing pics of others modifications or restorations. Checking out locations you would love to go wheel. Seeing and reading stories about folks you have met at past events or will meet at future destinations. If your truck is just a mode of transportation then its going to be hard to justify it, but if land cruiser are in your blood then being a member becomes to me more of a "What can I do for TLCA" than what's in it for me.

Just my thought.

No doubt Thad, there is a whole long list of potential reasons to join TLCA and maintain your membership. Some reasons hold more attraction for some people than for other people. A lot of members simply look at it as a nice magazine subscription. Others view membership as a prerequisite for attending certain wheeling events. I think offering exclusive discounts and offers to members is helpful.
