That's the 1KZTE - intercooled. Powerful motors, but still tons of electronics and they do eat heads every 250,000km.
In a nutshell ALL of toyota's IDI turbo diesels eat heads. Turbo plus IDI technology don't mix. Want a turbo diesel? Direct injection is the only way to go.
I've been eying up the 15BFT Megacruiser motors from Japan a guy has posted in the classified section. They fit PERFECT in a 70 series Prado engine bay. And they're significanty cheaper than the going prices for 12HT/1HDT/1HDFT etc.
From this build thread Builds - New kzj71 project , here is a picture of a 15BF going into a Prado 70 series. Almost looks like a 2LTE....LOL.

Honestly I don't think my particular LJ is worth the investment. Been keeping my eye out for a mint one with blown engine. Second problem is time.....

Almost sounds like it had a turbo 3B swapped into it? Confusing ad.... If it's still the original engine, the 2LT bottom ends go when people put the wrong thickness headgasket in. Pistons hit valves and eventually take out big end bearings. Nothing to do with boost. But yeah, Blaerta is too far in any case.
I saw that too. I'm guessing the 3b was a typo?
But yeah, I'm not feeling the road trip either.

That's actually a really good price for the parts alone; never mind the truck actually looks half decent too. Wonder what the better half would think if that was sitting in our drive way when she got home from work.

Trouble with that whole " easier to get forgiveness than permission" concept, is that it assumes forgiveness would eventually be granted.
