I'm getting concerned that my wants will soon turn into needs.

Any opinions on this one?

A nice stock example. It's crazy what people pull out of their garages on the island every once in a while! The nice thing about this one is that it is a complete, stock unit. That's a rarity these days and very nice to have. It's had some rust repair, but so will every other land cruiser this age.

Only concern would be that a 78 will have the 'B' diesel engine, not the more common 3B. Not that 3B's are 'common' when compared to most everything else! ;)

Looks to be a very nice driver. Is it worthh $12k, well sure, cause that keeps the value of my truck going up!

That truck will be a good remedy for a mid-life crisis. Able to enjoy driving it while you fix it up is a bonus.

I do love how people keep throwing it out there that "these restored are 60,000-70,000USD" or similar....where? On a rare, very rare occasion you might get that at a Barrett Jackson auction, but everything has to be mint. Likely even nicer than it was the day the factory finished it. And in today's market, especially in the US it's a hard sell, never mind the amount it will cost to get to that condition.

Must be one of the first BJ40's in Canada as all the ones I have seen in Canada were the square bezel, unless its from another country or someone swapped it?

Square Bezel started in 79. I know Steve has parted a few 78s and they were round.

I need to buy another truck, it's been too long

Steve should have a few jump seats around (EBI)

I saw that too.
It's a hoax or a joke.

If it sounds too good to be true...
