Some recommendations needed here guys ..
I have started to think about which suspension kit to get for my 96. ..
I've had both OME and Iron Man kits on previous truck. ..
the Iron Man on an Lj78 ..and the OME on a frontera (rodeo in the US)

I've heard the Pedders kit isn't that clever ... but that was only by one person ..
the Iron Man kit flaked the paint off within 6 months of being fitted .. so it looked old before it was.

I'm lookin for a small 2" /2½" lift .. I already have 285/75/16 cooper STT's on stock coils and as you can see .. they are quite close to rubbing (which they do on twist)

Any advise or recommendations are greatly appreciated ..
oh one other thing .... i'm in the UK.

Only had experiences with IronMan and FORII kits, I am VERY happy with the IronMan 2" Constant load kit. Some have mentioned the powdercoat coming off but the solution was to beadblast them and hit them with spraypaint. I think my kit has over 20k miles on it and the yellow powdercoat is still good, and wouldn't be a problem if it did start chipping off... Somethings are good when you powdercoat them, flexy springs are not in that category. (Factory should spray them with cosmoline and shave $100 off the price.)

I'm in oz, I was repeatedly recommended not to buy ironman as its budget gear and the corrugated dirt roads here are harsh and kill it quick, and a family member suffered serious and quick sagging with the paddlers stuff. Tjm and Ome is good quality. If you can find it in the uk efs, dobinsons and king springs have a really good rep too. Hope that helps

It all depends on wether your shopping on price, or quality.

Shipping from the US might be a lot but the Slee 4inch springs are really good. I've had good luck with OME as well. The other brands are an unknown to me.

Even though I'm currently running TJM springs I've been happy with everything I've gotten from Slee.

It's quality that i seek. .... have a saying here that goes like this ...... "buy nice ... or buy twice"

Get the OME heavy 2.5 as a kit. I had an OME medium kit on the previous 97 LX that rode bad. The heavy on my current 97 rides much better. Both were installed and aligned the same. I don't have the bumpers and sliders on this one yet and the ride is already good. I bought the medium before because I wasn't addin armor to my first truck. With medium 285s Hancook MT and no armor it rode bad on and humps pot holes. The heavy lift is smooth even with the armor off.

That's great ... Thanks ..

Can someone give me the item numbers needed to do the heavy lift including the springs shocks castor adjustment and the steering stabilizer

Total newb here first post. What difference is there between the Slee OME 2.5 and the Iron Pig 3 inch?

Both are Old Man Emu offerings, I believe. You'd have to contact IPOR to get the spring numbers to compare as they aren't listed. Both kits include shocks and caster correction. Looks like the slee kit comes with a bushing press tool which is nice if you're gonna DIY. the IPOR looks to include drop bumpstops and sway bar link mounts. Both are great companies to deal with; awesome customer service and are happy to answer questions. I guess the biggest difference is east coast / west coast. Good luck and lift it up!

The OP asked for a 2-2.5" lift. Slee only makes 4" offerings. Everything else is OME or TJM. Which I assume you could source in the UK?

On my 80 I have a Iron Man system that has held up well for 3yrs and 50,000+ miles. The yellow is still on the springs with a few flaws mostly due to debris hitting them. We don't have the volume of corrugated roads the the guys in AU see, but mine has seen more of that than the average USA truck I assure you. Often while towing.

I've had OME leaves on both my 40/60 that held up good too. Never owned TJM.

Regardless of who you choose my only advice is to make sure you match the spring rating to the weight of your truck, if you looking for OEM ride quality. If my stuff ever wears out I'll replace them with Slee's 4" springs and hopefully his shocks.

What is the advantage of the Slee 4" over OME 4"(Js)?
