Got my T17 in, waiting for my LC to come back from paint to fix up a bad windshield install job from a previous owner.

The lights have been upgraded, they are now all led on the one I got. Part 92600 from TJM.

I haven't found my answer unfortunately.

How do we wire the indicator lights on a land cruiser? The yellow wire or indicator light on the tjm must tap off the turn signal wire, but which one, there is 3 going into the stock indicator light when I checked.

I used a test light to figure out which wire was hot and cycled / flashed. One is a ground and the other is constant with the parking lights. I’ll take a look for you, but it’ll be a couple days.

TJM should have one ground and a positive for the turn signal and a positive for the fog light.

The truck should have a positive and a negative for the for lights and turn signals (4 wires total)

Positive would go to positive on each. Grounds can be combined I believe but I’m getting a fast flash on mine (installed it yesterday) so still troubleshooting.

Its only 3 wires: white , brown, and yellow. I think the confusion is because the LX models have 4 wires as they already have the indicators there on the bumper.

So once I do find the positive from the indicator does this mean I need the ground from the indicator too? Sorry, the merging/tapping off the turn light has me thrown off.

Ah ya I have an LX so not sure how the LC differs.

Basic electrical principles though: you can share a ground but if you share a positive both lights will turn on/off together.

IMO I’d get a multimeter or test light if you have one and see which one stays on for fogs, which one flashes for turn signal, and which has no power for ground then wire accordingly.

Got it. I happened to guess each side on the first try with a t-tap.

Passenger side was the innermost wire of the 3, the green/yellow.

Driver side was also the innermost wire of the 3, green stripe, I believe green/gray.

Installation was straightforward. I ended up moving from the 98 LC to an '06 LX-470 . In that case I hade to shim it out to avoid cutting the bumper or sheet metal. Wasn't totally comfortable with that. Can't say I wheeled either truck very hard but never bought it for a bush bumper. For the trail it
s hard to beat an ARB. For looks though and light duty winching the TJM was superior.
I see you mention that you had to “shim it out” to avoid cutting the bumper or sheet metal. Can you share exactly where you shimmed it out and what you used to do that and where?

The amber bulb is a 1156 in amber. The smaller bulb is a 89. If wanting to use LED bulbs, they both use a BA15s base.
I just ordered new LED bulbs to replace the factory provided ones. The 1156 bulb in my case was a BAU15s base. If you take them out and look at the back you can see that they are at the 135degree. The factory told me that they are BA15s but my experience is difference. Maybe they sourced the lights from somewhere different or mine is just different.

I am considering the T17 for my wife's 2006 LX470, that recently sustained front end damage (with me at the wheel - doh). Question regarding the trimming that must be done around the headlights: If at some point one wanted to put factory bumper back on, would the portions that had been trimmed be visible? Would there be a gap, etc? Or would they be concealed by the factory bumper once reinstalled?
I was wondering if you ended up doing the installation? I am also considering going back to factory perhaps at some point in the future. Perhaps it would be possible to trim the T17 bumper instead of the vehicle. Has anyone done that?

Working from memory, the part on my LX that I trimmed tucked in behind the top plate of the TJM. While I supposed you could trim the TJM to hold it back from that flange on the vehicle, I think it might not look as clean, and of course you would have to cut into the powder coating on the new bumper, creating a potential issue with rust. Yes, you could paint that edge, but I would be worried about water getting under the powdercoat. It’s that rolled flange under the grill.

I should back up and say that if you lower this a couple mm on both sides and pull it out a couple mm the headlight lower mount tabs are just barely exposed enough to mount it regularly. Also, that depending on how much metal you trim off the lateral cross member at the corners right where the rivets are that hold the fender will determine how far back you're able to push this bumper in. (and the frame bolt adjustable underside holes to a certain degree)
If you have the tools to make a smooth radius cut across the top of the bumper this would be a better way. As opposed altering the car to fit the bumper.
The gap between the fender and the bumper is directly related to if you want the lower headlight bolts installed and how much space you want there. In almost any hit on the corners the lower headlight tabs are going to break anyway.
It's growing on me sort of.

I just saw this post about your suggestion about radius cuts on the bumper. Do you have any idea how I might measure that out or template it? I would like to go this route. Thanks for any help you can provide.

What lights did you put on yours in the middle there? Any trimming needed to fit them?

My T17 bumper comes in today, can't wait. Although the LC doesn't have turn signals, so do I tap in from the other headlight area turn signals?

Pics as proof or it didn't happen!!!

Lol...

I want this bumper eventually.

I believe they were these:

MICTUNING 2PCS 18W Flood Led Light Bar, Flush Mount Led Pods, Off Road Backup Driving Lights Fog Lamp Compatible with Jeep Tacoma Bumper ATV UTV SUV Truck Boat

I may be wrong on the specific model, but it was that brand, and they were super cheap. I had to grind a bit off of the cooling fins on the back side of the lights to make them fit, but it was minimal. Check the dimensions of the opening on the bumper to make sure it fits the dimen of the lights, as shown in their promo picture.

I think you put the wrong ones, I think you meant these.... :)

Amazon product ASIN B074Y13BK1

Thanks for all the info. I think I'm ready for a new look for the front. This also seems to save some weight over the BIOR I currently have installed.

When putting on the bumper all by myself I used the panel lips to hold up the bumper.....I got some nice squeak noises going now occasionally. I suppose I will just cut the bottom panel parts or try and stuff some rubber in between. Anybody have this issue or was I not supposed to rest the bumper when installing on the panel.
