@GLTHFJ60 he copied your weld your skid to the frame and worry about it later move 😂
I honestly had more confidence with it welded to the frame lol
Congrats on the baby on the way. They’re a ton of fun!
Thank you! Excited but nervous, I'm worried karma is going to come full circle for me 🤣
Found the one I was REALLY looking for!

Thank you! Time flies! If it makes you feel any better I'm only turning 23 this year lol
Well, that's it. One of the first signs of the Apocalypse....... Gurt is procreating.

Congrats to you and the missus!!!!!
Thank you! 100% some kind of Apocalypse is coming this way lol
Dang I missed that in the text too. Congrats bro! @fourtrax is about to become a grandpappy
I can't tell if he's more excited to be a granddad or that karma is finally coming full circle to bite me in the butt for everything i did as a kid🤣

Congratulations!!!

Congratulations to you and your wife Garrett, I wish you smooth sailing on this part of your adventure

Haven't been able to do much to it other than look at it in the garage while working on other house projects and busy jumping out of helicopters lol, Mostly just ordering parts and acquiring new tools since the new garage isn't a 30x40 shop that has every tool i could ever need 😟. Ordered brackets and materials to redo the front suspension and transmission/transfer case crossmember, My plan is to move the front lower frame side link mounts off of the skid plate, and move them to the inside of the frame rail if i can get the geometry right. With doing that I'm going to build a custom crossmember and try to raise the transfer case up 3-4" to make a flat belly skid plate. I don't hit the skid plate too much but since the bolts pulled out of the crossmember i don't really want to rely on that anymore. So I'll make it unnecessarily 10x stronger. I'm also not a big fan of the front coil over towers, whoever built the front didn't add frame stiffeners or support bracing, I've notice the frame flexing so It'll crack eventually. ill also not be able to remove the engine without cutting the tube bracing that runs between the towers. I don't even think i can even remove the valve cover without pulling the motor mounts out and lowering the engine down, and lets be honest I'm going to blow the thing up at some point lol... Hopefully can start in the next few weeks when I'm done with the room addition in the house for the baby and can find some time.

Found a little bit of time last night to get some work done on the 4runner, got my new towers in the mail the other day so i went ahead and cut the old towers off, still waiting on my new link mounts and heim joints to come in as mine are shot. Not much but slowly chopping away.

As If it wasn't going to be down long enough, all I'm going to say is that particular exhaust manifold isn't going back on ;)

Got the head pulled off, Not exactly stoked with what I'm seeing in the cylinder walls but not really concerned with it either, don't really want to mess with the bottom end right now so ill rock it and see how long i get out of it. Everything else looks good and no significant wear anywhere else. Waiting on ARP head studs, MLS head gasket and new cams to arrive and ill throw it back together. In the mean time ill clean everything up and see if i need anything else

I may have missed it. Why are you pulling the head off?
Pulled the head to throw a MLS HG on there and doing ARP studs. Throwing a 50/63 garrett turbo on the ole girl. nothing was wrong just adding insurance for boost

got the new link mounts and heim joints in and replaced as mine are shot. flexed it out and doesn't bind just need to get the new coil towers in. A Waiting for the rest to come in still but have gotten a bunch done to prepare for it, going to be running a 50/63 garrett turbo, Haltech elite 750, 750cc injectors, ARP head studs and MLS head gasket. and stage 2 cams. Still waiting for the turbo stuff and ECU but everything else is installed ready to go engine wise. I'm eager to get it done but I'm thinking the baby is going to pop out before it comes in so well just have to see!

Here's the progress on the room so far, just need to do the mini split, floors, and drywall in the closet and hallway leading to it. Defiantly been a learning curve for me as I've been a mechanic in my life, not a house builder lol.

Thanks man! its been kicking my butt, but has been enjoyable at times seeing the progression of it. Got the cabinets and counter tops mounted tonight, also got the inside portion of the mini split done tonight.

Time for my monthly backlog of updates!

Been an eventful week so far, Baby Logan made her way into the world on Saturday night (June 7th) at 7:41pm 7lbs 1oz,. We got discharged from the hospital Monday afternoon. Momma and baby are healthy and perfect.

She also wanted to say whats up to her ONSC Family

Not only that but had some boxes show up at my door on Tuesday. Finally got everything put to put the 4Runner back together. All I gotta say is the turbo looks damn good on there

Got the new camshafts installed and valves shimmed within spec. Threw the valve cover and turbo on for the last time (hopefully). Next is to drop the pan and weld the bung in for the oil return line for the turbo, feed line, piping, exhaust, and figure out a ground issue I’m having with the harness/haltech, ECU is not grounding for some reason so I’ll have to chase the wire with a multimeter but thankfully it’s getting 12vdc+. Hopefully find some time between the baby and chores to get it started this weekend

What's that saying, it comes in 3's? Little back track update, figured out the ECU issue, it was INFACT not getting power once i finally got some sleep as my lack of sleep had me looking at the pinout backwards, When i finally figured out i was looking at it backwards i saw i was on the wrong pin and went to go check for 12V on the ecu side to find that there wasn't a pin where there was supposed to be. Looked on the backside to find this on the PNP adapter from SNP after i gave the wire a little tug.

the 12v DC pin was not seated all the way into the connector that plugs into the haltech, once i pushed it in i actually got the ecu to turn on

Spent the next 3 hours tuning it and pissing off my neighborhood, this sucker rips, until it didn't, discovered two issues, one i have severe death wobble, i replaced all the heim joints as they were shot but from pushing my axle forward and my alignment is off so i need to get it on a rack. Now for the 3rd issue. I'm about 99% this brand new Garrett turbo has a bad oil seal. During acceleration and decel at higher RPMS its pushing oil out the exhaust to the point its dripping out the flex joint on the down pipe. This motor is super healthy, good compression, never smoked before the turbo, and ran like a sewing machine. I'm thinking once its pushing high oil pressure its pushing out the turbo into the exhaust side and down the downpipe. I don't have high crank case pressure, i re-routed the PCV out of the intake and into a breather and plugged in the intake just incase. Soon ill pull the spark plugs and down pipe to see if its engine side or turbo side. Hopefully get that knocked out tomorrow and shoot myself in the foot before i call LCE to know 100% its not something engine related. At least it looks good being on all 4 tires again

Show your oil drain line routing, as side-on as you can. Blowing oil out the exhaust under load can just be a return restriction.

Also, congrats again on your new kid!

Congratulations there big daddy, and blessings for your new family. Logan looks adorable.

It's pretty consistent all the way to the oil pan, I don't imagine it causing restriction. Should i pull the line off the oil pan side and see if have a good flow through the line at idle, and have a higher flow with rpm increase to make sure its good to rule that out as the problem?

Why isn't it vertical, and what size is it? Can't tell with the heat shielding you have on there.

The slope is overall fine, if the size is large enough. Definitely not a smoking gun I was hoping to find.
