A couple of ya have mentioned getting my tires here semi-local...but I cant remember the name of the place..

Any suggestions? These are the ones Im leaning towards..specially now that I have steelies :grinpimp:

My first choice -
Interco SSM-16
33/31x10.5x15s

Other 'likes'
Interco Narrow SS

Yokohama Y742s

And I saw some STA Traxions on a piggie around here somewhere - I like those too..figuring on taking off the 33x12.5x15s for the occasional town driving, and switch back to the ones I took to Uwharrie - Any feedback with my top picks would be greatly appreciated!!

Baldree's Tire

copied from one of ramon's post a few years back.

It is right on Highway 70 as you come into Havelock on the west-bound side of the road which is on your left from Greenville. You can give them a call to get a quote first if you want, the number is 252.444.3600 and ask for Gary (father in law) or Howard (brother in law) and tell them Ramon (pronounced Raymond) sent you!

so what is your goal?

if I read that right you want the new tires for the occasional street driving around town

and youll switch back to the 33x12.5's you had at URE if you go offroad?

if thats the case I wouldnt bother getting the SS if it sees a bunch of street use as they will wear fast.
How much street time does mejane see? if you just hitting the store here and there and maybe a short sunday drive Im not sure i would find it adventageaous to have to sets BTDT If the street time is limited I would just get the MT's you like and rock em. If you do like a good bit of time on the pavement the yokohamas look nice and should wear well and be quet as well.

tire picking is fun, enjoy and remember youll get another chance one day :)

What jason said. How much driving on road are you doing?

Thanks Jason - I guess I just like the look of the more aggressive looking tread on SS tires, but indeed, I do intend to keep the 33x12.5s for offroad use.

Most of the driving time, will definitely be tooling around town showing her off, beach time in the summer so I believe the steering would at least slightly improve by putting a smaller tire on - Ive looked at 31x10.5s but I keep leaning towards the more offroad-y looking tires. I dont want to put cheapos on it, even if I only drive it once in awhile..

Hard to decide since its not a necessity. I keep looking at 40 tire porn at night. What a weirdo! :D

I figure when I clean the stock steelies up and get ready to put them on, I should just put the new ones on em..Im on logical path...right?

I just dont like the street looking tires.
I never this much thought into a pair of shoes! ;)

Also got to decide on aftermarket seatbelts before I replace the front seats..but after my "coolant overflow bottle freak out" last month - I try to keep the list of 40 to-dos concentrated and short..less overwhelming. I know I want her back on the road. I do love that darned yota!

What seats are you looking at? Ramon got some new seats this year that I liked a lot. Corbeau RS maybe? He has a thread from this spring that mentions them. The wife and I both like them.

I'm contemplating the recover vs. replace thing now. I'm hiding them under seat covers till then. Keep us posted.

Might be a bit "tame" for you. But, some BFG All-Terrain T/A KO 33 x 9.50 x 15 would be a great option for tooling around town.

As far as I know, 9.5s are not actually available - tirerack lists them but they arent making them..Tall and skinnies were my first choice- yet not currently in production?

Michelin IE BFG sometimes do halt production on certain sizes while the size up the market again. Last year when I was looking for some for David I tracked some down and my michelin rep said they had halted production. If you or anyone else wants them call/email michelin USA and let them know... if they get enough they will make them again for a run..... they do that kind of stuff all the time.

I just ordered some tires from a place called tire buyer. Tires showed up the next day. I thought they were a pretty good deal for some 33x10.5x15 BFG AT for about 166 a tire with free shipping.

I went out looking today as I ran across some tires that were very similar to the Dean SXT and the Cooper SST. It was a wildcat XTR and sold by Les Schwab. Not sure if they still carry it but I was going over their products and they carry a lot of neat tires and I think a very wide selection.

Only problem is they are only out west. Not sure if you can order them any other way than in the store.

I always thought I should open one of those out east. Probably the best tire shop or business I've ever had a chance to work with.

They don't make a tall/skinny, but one of the best tires I ever ran was a MT Baja AT Radial. They were a tad louder than the BFG ATs I replaced them with, but lasted a lot longer and outperformed them in the mud night and day.

Definitely give Gary a call at Baldrees Tire. He LOVES it when ONSC folks come see him. He's an independent tire dealer, so don't expect him to be able to beat Tire Rack or other online prices, but he will do you right!!
