I need some KM2s jockyed between two sets of rims. Any recommendation on a shop in South Charlotte/Matthews that would be willing to do it and have a clue about balancing these tires?

I've talked to some of the larger chain shops around and they seemed fairly reluctant to mess with it. One even said that they dont mount used tires at all :bang:

Thanks

I'm guessing you already asked 4WD and carolina truggies???

Try A Lube Will Do on Hwy 160 in Fort Mill (OK it is really in Lancaster County) about 2.5 miles West of the Lowes on 521. Aubrey (the owner) is usually pretty good with things like this.

@yota_dawg - where did u end up going? I will be in the same situation this weekend.

Will want to swap my existing tires from my old wheels to my "new to me" wheels...

Watched some YouTube diy videos and seems like something to leave to the professionals.

Will likely follow @elkaholics advice

This all depends on the size of the tires.... Some tire shops cannot do anything over a 33" tire

Mine are pretty wimpy, 235 75 15 going into stock wheels.

Yeah, Aubrey will be able to handle that easily. Note that his guys are hit and miss with their ability to get things balanced well though. I have had good luck and bad with that ... the only downside to stopping there ....

I would imagine any shop can do that size. Pep boys, tire kingdom, etc....

The big place that sales used tires in south blvd between arrowood and archdale. They also sell new tires and have the everything to handle big tires. I do all the company trucks there and my personal trucks too.

I have been going to Eddie Rivera at Hook Tire on corner of seneca and south for 15 years... he is the man and will do it. 7045275714. Tell him i sent ya

I lIve in Matthews and have been relying on www.rollingtreads.com. The owner, Billy, will come to you with his mobile tire service and do it all. He can source tires at a much lower price than other places. Hard to beat the convenience of time and doing it at home.

@77cruiser,

I would also recommend Hook Tire on S Blvd. Eddie is a great guy. The last time I was in there he was wearing a Libstrong bracelet. I was selling an FJ40. The buyer wanted an independent party to look the truck over and do a compression test. He took care of me and my buyer and he gave the truck a clean bill of health. We talked a bit about you and about Libby. He said you come in there from time to time. He knows all about our little group and the shop is definitely cruiser friendly.

Dave

Thanks everyone for the solid advice, I'll start making some calls in advance of getting my new/old wheels tomorrow.

Cheers
