A 265/70/17 should fit. My last set of Wildpeaks ran for 65k miles and now my friends running em, great tread life, quiet, and awesome traction offroad
My last set of BFG all terrains had 80,000 plus and sold them at yard sale for $150.00 I have seen them with 100,000 gs and still plenty of tread. That's why I am a fan. Had B.F.G.s on every Rig I have owned since the 80s

We just got some Falken Wildpeaks installedm on Lexy, we like them allot. They survived Death Valley :)

i have a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers in 285 70 17 with FJC 6 spoke wheels. they are almost no rub -they do rub everso slightly on a inner fender splash guard when turned at a specific spot(turned about half way) and one when backing up. im stock with no lift. so yeah i think you can get by with 285s if you dont mind a little rub or dont mind doing a little inner fender trimming.

I rub the fender linings with 255/75R17 Duratracs. It's tolerable on the street, but I'm not too confident in taking it offroad until I fix that.

I will be putting the new BFG ko2 in that size also and will be going the the D rating. We run BFG rugged terrains on everything else that mostly sees payment. (Silverado, 4Runner, 2 FJs) I had a set of KM2 pizza cutters that lasted 40k when I sold them with a little less than half tread. BFG makes the best product IMO for tire life and performance so I will be sticking with them for a while.

I really like my Cooper ST MAXXs. They are amazing at the traction they give and they don't make much noise. I thought about giving the new BFGs a try but I'm happy I have the Coopers. I was also considering the Nitto Terra Grapplers again, but in the end I wanted a slightly more aggressive tire and the Cooper fit that bill perfectly. I took the GX out on the local trails today and was very impressed with their ability to climb and hold a line. Way better than my buddy's Dura Tracs he was running, not to mention the Coopers are way stronger. In the rain they really resist hydroplaning that's probably due to their super deep tread.
