Hi. I am looking to see what your opinions are on the Super Swamper SSR and the BFG Mud Terrain KM2. Obviously, I am hoping that people who have run both tires post their opinions here but anyone who has run one of the tires is welcome to give their opinion. I am going to be running size LT265/70R17. My rig is a 4Runner that's my daily driver but I don't mind a rough and/or loud ride. I do go off road a lot and drive over many foreign objects and obstacles that are in my way, so, durability is very important to me.

I'd like your opinions on the following categories as well as on their overall performance:

- Thick Mud/Clay Performance
- Snow Performance
- Rock Performance
- Deep Snow Performance
- Sand Performance
- Strength/Durability
- Treadwear/Longevity

I'll make this into a poll as well just so it's easy to tally up the votes.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'll bite. While I have no first hand experience with the Interco tires, I have had 3 sets on vehicles in my past. I am currently running the same size tires on my truck (Chevrolet Silverado), 265/70/17 and have had good success with them. For a Mud tire, they run fairly quietly. I bought them and installed them after running KO2s and the noise is only slightly louder. It is my spare truck and I only use it to and from hunting and fishing and often times I am towing my tractor or a boat.
I ran some on an older F-150 about 12-15 years ago and they really sang. They were 31x10.5x15 and tread design has been improved.
With that said, just make sure you are comparing apples to apples. My 265/70/17 are load range E and that's all I found in a quick search. I would not want to run load range E on a 4Runner and definitely not want to wheel with them.
It appears that the load capacity on the Interco tires are less so that leads me to believe they may be a load range C. E tires on a light rig will beat you to death IMO.

My only issue with Swampers is that while I have never run a set myself, I have never seen a set that appeared to wear evenly. They often times are worn unevenly but then again, I usually see them on jacked up trucks in the high school parking lot. They sing loudly so you need to be prepared for the noise and it sounds like you are OK with that.

I'm not a fan of BFG .. so I'll choose Super Swampers .. but if an dedicated off road tire with good on road maners Toyo open country MT

There is really only one type of mud terrain, and that’s a swamper, everything else is an all terrain.

I have a lot of experience on Swampers with the SSR being one of them. I also had KM2s for 60k.

I’m my small opinion the KM2 was the worse tire that I ever ran. Pretty much terrible in everything from wet road to mud. They were much more quite than SSRs if that matter to you, but traction wise, not even a competition.

Swampers. Its not even close. I have had 4-5 sets of each. Swampers are louder, ride rougher, wear faster, and can be a little scary on wet pavement, But they are solid gold offroad.

But they can be scary slippery on wet pavement. Something to think about in a daily driver. I daily drove the swmapers for years. So you can get used to it. But now I have swampers on the farm truck and the Jeep. but BFG's on the 62 that I drive to work every day.
