Hey Trollhole, Sorry for the delay in responding to your request. I'm posting this picture for you of the location of the pto shifter. I am short on space for pics, hopefully will get more as I post more. Hope the pic helps. Also shows the AC better for those interested in "pretty" pictures. I got some tires, and a starter is on order. I might get it cleaned up and fired up in the next few weeks. I'll keep ya'll posted and will certainly be asking some specific questions.

Very nice find. I am particularly fond of the '74s...
If you want much more help, and post more pics, you should really buy a star...
In fact, if you do buy a star, I'll give you the super-secret part number for the broken gear in your tailgate window...

Man what a deal. nice Piggie! Really awesome you have a pto winch. Look forward to more pics and updates.

I just figured out about the silver star and will be getting one. I like posting pics and seeing others. I appreciate all the help.

That is a sweet deal!

You want a 'gear reduction' starter from an FJ60. Much better than the starters than came with the 1F's and earlier 2F's.

I got mine from the junkyard, but if you want one from a parts store, just ask for a starter for a '85 FJ60. Bolts right up.

If you search for gear reduction starter you should get plenty of info.

I'm jealous!

Thanks Pighead, I owe you one . I got a used GR starter in the mail today, and handle for my broken floor jack, tires to mount so I can roll it out to clean and install, 3 days of vacation left, a good weather forecast, and I owe ya'll some new pics after all that. PTO shifter should be cleaned and photo op ready then too. Appreciate all the help and the :flipoff2:'s.

Roll her out and give her a bubble bath! Great find, I grew up with one of these in the family, my grandad's was awesome, when I was little I though it was an army truck because it was so big and ugly. Now I see the beauty and miss that old girl. Seems like small fixes ahead of you, chip them off a little at a time and get her running as soon as you can, then drive it and enjoy it.
