Time for new head and gasket

Nice Mark! I did not notice a gain in power after mine was done but it has been running as smooth as silk. The biggest difference was the dramatic decline in oil usage. Right before the head gasket was done I was burning a quart every 800 miles and sometimes even more depending on driving conditions. Since the head gasket I have put 3,500 miles on it without losing a drop of oil.

My decline was in usage of coolant, not oil. Both oil and coolant are symptoms of the HG being blown. I agree with Dan's comment about smooth as silk. You aren't going to get any more power than what's designed...unless you super or turbo charge.

finger crossed, knock on wood. not burning coolant or oil :-)

Here is the crack at I believe the rear, 5th cylinder.

Got the Cruiser back on Tuesday and drove her for work two days this week. Hell Yeah! she is back! Now it's time to plan a trip, so look for a trip thread that is a blast from the past....

Congrats Mark! Blast from the past?!?:hmm: Do I smell a Turkey run in the works?:steer:

Interesting where that crack is - sneaking little devil! Glad the truck is back and running smoothly!!
