My family rides with me on the trail in my 84 mini and the open top worries me.
I know this is not really hardcore.
Anywho I dont have acsess to a bender and the Marlin kit looks like a pain?

I want a removeable kit that just bolts to the body..........not the frame. I dont mind even keeping the old sport bar in the back and using a new kit in conjunction
Whats mud say about the Marlin kit or any other venders?

I noticed Metaltech had nothing for 4runners.

I looked at the Marlin cage, but it is made from HREW tube and has slip joints that bolt together. Personally this wan't good enough for me so I went with a 4xInnovations cage in my 4 Runner after I rolled it. I chose to go with Adam because I really liked the lines of his cage and that it came complete with everything needed, could be slightly customized, and was full DOM tubing. He was able to meet my deadline for delivery and was great to discuss the project with. It went together pretty well for working alone and the end product looks great.

Here are two quick pictures of it mostly completed, I will be adding an X behind the seats. Adam provided the dash bar and I added the gussets and harness bar.

Here is my build thread with the cage install.

If you have any questions about the cage or install, let me know and I will be happy to answer them.

"4x Innovations is proud to manufacture the most precision engineered internal roll cage kit for Toyota 4 Runner and Pickup off road trucks. When you purchase one of these internal cages you are getting unmatched fit to the interior of your truck. This superior fit helps save valuble space and head room inside the cab of your vehicle. You also get the choice of 1.75x.120 HREW tubing or, for the serious hard core wheeler, 1.75x.120 DOM tubing. All of these cage "

looking further I notice marlins cage at the front leg is bacily straight compared to 4x Innovations leg is curved for the dash..........nice

The cage holds pretty tight to the body, although I cannot tell you about the roof clearance since I don't have one :D I sit a little high and close to the top tubes, but that is because my Corbeau seats sit a bit higher than the factory seats. I will be building a sub frame to lower the seats that is tied into the cage since I also tied the cage into the frame

Yep, like I said, can't go wrong with Adam for a pre-bent cage kit that is well if not overbuilt.
