I've already seen the thread related to changing belts on FJ62. Lots more going on in that thread beyond scope of my issue, and not enough regarding mine. Six months ago, my power steering belt was slipping/squealing. I fixed it basically just gently prying up on PSP a bit and tightening--problem solved. Six months later it's loosened enough again for belt squeal when turning without vehicle in motion. Figured it couldn't hurt to ask people who know what they are doing if there wasn't a more right way to ensure proper belt tension than what I did last time. Thanks.

The PSP should sit level, the tension does not come from moving the PSP. The tension comes from the alternator. You will first have to Loosen the Idler pulley on the middle belt. Then tighten the power steering belt with the alternator, then snug up the middle belt with the idler/tension pulley.

Also, you may need a new belt. A V belt is moved through the pulleys by the contact on the sides of the belt, so if worn or the wrong width, you will most likely still have slippage even if extremely tight. I reccomend Toyota belts.
