Where is the best\cheapest place to get a tie rod end kit here in BC. I think I had some water in them for the big freeze and now my steering sucks. I hope thats all it is. I checked and flushed the pump and system but it is still hard to steer. Any other things I should look at?

I bought a rebuild kit for my ends. from 4wheel auto in Edmonton. 69.00 for each side. they can ship on dhl ground for not that much. This isn't a replacement tie rod ends, but a rebuild. so we put them together ourselves. Call Kevin there, he will help you. http://store.4wheelauto.com/index.php
I just ordered a bunch of stuff from them, should get the parcel tomorrow.

yep, i have used Dan and Kevin for lots of BRAND NEW parts. not a big fan of their used inventory or their knowledge but they are real hard to beat when it comes to Japanese parts (not that taiwan crap)...

Could you explain rebuild kits?

I'm interested in how you rebuild TRE's too
You can get rebuild kits for relay/draglink ends but the problem with those is that the holder piece is usually worn out and not safe to re-use
A four piece 60 series TRE kit is about $200 CDN and you don't have to re-use parts
I pretty much only carry Japanese kits and seal, I list the 40 series TRE kit at $150 CDN for 5 ends plus offer club and jobber discounts. My webpage sucks and the new stuff will not be uploaded until I'm happy with it
We carry left and right hand drive kits
I've carried a huge inventory of new parts for a while now but have been too busy to do additional advertising
so here goes my pimping of parts on IH8MUD, I think I'll be doing one of those star things soon
please post a pic of the rebuild kit if you can

Forgot right hand drive 7 series kits 198.00
7 series tie rods.webp

I deal with Lordco daily, my biggest supplier.

They deal with off shore shat that is not Jap, its the bad stuff.

As a dealer, they charge me 40.00 per tie rod end, you must be a REALY big dealer to get that type of pricing?

run what you can afford, there is a big difference in quality and even size
I'm sure I have a few of the cheaper ones somewhere. If I can find them, I'll post a pic of the size difference for reference.

Hello
Thats what I was quoted for price. Yours might be better. This is my first cruiser BJ42. I need the TRE, and I need the center arm rebuild kit. Toyota wants $ 300 and Lordco or Napa has no stock.

hey, with my rebuild kit I will take some pics on the weekend. As I am doing the job. prolly sunday post. they have all the pices but I need to build. just not the threaded parts. I don't know if they are good. but they are jap. Kevin reccomended them. so I thought i would give it a go, also they are a rebuild kit for the relay rod ends only. I didn't need the ball jointy ends. bigger ones. imput rod. but I will post up.
I am doing the swivel rebuild/inner seals/rod ends/rotor and pads/wheel bearings etc. this weekend. I got all the parts from 4wheel. all new bearings etc. I have to an out of province insp next week. so I had these to do. I'll post up em up.

heres the relay rod rebuild kit. it was 69.00 at 4wheel auto. you were asking what it was so here it is. haven't put it on yet. I will let you know how difficult it is when I do it.

I'll be interested to see if it is easy or not. Looks like a nice set. Good luck and follow up.
