Hi Mud techs,

Need a little help and assistance around the tie rods since it is my first time doing the change out. The manual says the tie rods should be screwed in equal lengths into the tube to give you ~1.267m total length. When I got to mine, they were all different lengths. I did the first thing that came to mind and counted the threads and replaced the tierods as found until I ask you all here on what is best practice. New tierods are from Terrain tamer so they are good.

The steering is pretty straight ( for an old boy) but I'd like to know If I really need to get them equal lengths then working back, adjusting relay rods until I can hook up to pitman arm once steering wheel centred.

Appreciate the help chaps.

Hello,

It is better to have equal lengths as per the manual. Make sure the clamps are torqued properly to manual's values. Otherwise, the bar will move out of length.

As soon as you can, have the wheels aligned.
