Rory, Mike B. and I were going to meet at I-40 and Carlisle at 10:15. I was thinking the K-Mart/Burger King parking lot (south of I-40) would be a good place. Are you taking the 40 or your 4-Runner? I'm starting to lean towards just taking I-25 so that we can get there as quickly as our slow trucks can get us there so we maximize our time in the area and make sure we don't have any trouble making the 5:00 Trail Team thing. Even at 55-65 mph, we should easily make it there in 3 hours. I can do sight-seeing on Monday coming back north.

We're taking the motorhome and trailering the 40, coming down I-25. We can link up somewhere south of the Big-I. I can pull over a couple of miles south of the airport - like at the top of the next hill, and get rolling again when I see you coming...

sounds good.
to minimize back tracking how about we meet at the Loves on 12th and I-40. Fuel up and start caravaning.

Just a warning though, the 40 has a 15 gallon tank, so Marc's kids will have plenty bathroom breaks... ;)

I will meet up with the group on the south side of the city after the sunport. I will be on CB channel 40.

We can't leave until Ryan gets out of school at 1:00 pm. Anyone else on that schedule?

Sarah is leaving around mid-day, taking the Cummins.

I can't start out til after work.

Leaving the house by 1pm is my target time right now. Connie is off that day and Ross will be out of school but I have a meeting at the office that could change my plans.

Camp ground is full and wet. Supposedly the others around there are full as well. The forcast is for more rain next weekend.

We may end up passing if we can't find a spot to camp.

I don't know about the wet part but be sure to have Sarah check with Brandon before she gives up on the campground. It is possible that they reserved the whole campground for this event.

She just had the campground on the phone. I'm sure she would have mentioned we were in the Cruiser group.

I called the campground and they said they were full - that was last week. I think they do have the whole campground, because I then called Brandon and he said there were still spaces left. You know some of those 1,000+ milers from way out of town aren't going to make it...

When I emailed back and forth with Brandon, he told me that the camping was taken care of when we registered for the event. If this isn't the case, i won't be staying either.

Camping for Friday also? I thought the fee only covered Sat and Sun night.

If we can't get in there's plenty of NF to crash in.

Looks like we are covered based on the e-mail I received on 5/12/07.

Hello everybody,

Is everyone ready for a great weekend? This event is really turning out to be a great success. At the current count, we are going to have around 35 Cruisers on hand. We have also picked up some more great prizes to give away on Sunday night. There are going to be 50 tickets to hand out (first come first serve) for the John Anderson concert. Also on Friday evening, around 5, the Toyota Trail Team is going to perform and demonstrate how to do a winch recovery and a few other techniques which will last about two hours. Below is a schedule of times and activities.

Friday- All day arrivals and set up.
- Trail sign ups. (A.M. and P.M. trails)
- 5 P.M. Trail Team demonstration
- Dinner at your leisure

I didn't think to ask if Friday night was included... I guess I just assumed that we were covered considering the festivities are scheduled to start Friday evening.

I specifically asked Neil if it was ok to show up on Friday at the campground. He said that would be fine. I'm going to assume he knew what he was talking about.

Dan - I think you need to call Brandon or Neil to make your camping arrangements. The way I understood it was that all registered participants could utilize the campground. The only problem I might be able to see is if there were more RV's and trailers than there are spaces for.

Marc

The campground is completely full. Sarah talked to Brandon.

We have a friend in Ruidoso who's driveway we will be staying in.

Dan,
Brandon may not know that we are not staying at the campground. I will be happy to call him and give my "slot" to you, assuming he allocated a slot to me.

I think there is a Walmart close in case your friend's driveway doesn't work out.

Sounds like they are bbqing for us for 2 nights. So I think we only need to bring food for breakfast and lunch on Sat and Sun, then breakfast and maybe lunch for Monday. That sound about right?

I haven't been camping in SOOOO long... I'm having a hard time thinking of what I need to bring. If I forget anything... keep your possessions locked up at night or I may "borrow" something in the still of the night

I haven't been camping in SOOOO long... I'm having a hard time thinking of what I need to bring.

I can dig up a list that we give to the Scouts before every campout if that would help. :D

Lesseee...

1. Clean underwear. 1 pair for every day.
2. Clean socks. 2 pair per day.
3. Toothbrush.
4. Deodorant
5. Scout Handbook
7. Flashlight

... shall I go on. :D
