Computer simulation FTW.

In another example of code copy/paste...

I worked my ass off yesterday cleaning up the lot (got a dumpster to toss all the crap in). I woke up this morning feeling like I got hit by a truck.

Remembering Nolen checking his step counter after a long day, I looked at the step counter that is built into the iPhone (if you have an iPhone, you are tracked 24/7 btw. This data is in yours too.)

Holy $&@!

More forward progress. The new doors are going in today. None of the openings are standard sizes, and I didn’t want to wait or pay for custom so I’ll have to close in the gaps after they’re done.

The block opening for the side door is 1” out of square, so they had to trim down the frame to fit. I checked the back wall a foot away and it is perfectly plumb, so it hasn’t shifted. Just a horrible block job back in the day.

We were stopped when we ran into a bunch of electrical running through the ceiling. Will need to trace & mark the breakers and kill some circuits before proceeding.

We got a break in the weather, so there’s been a little more activity.

The back lot is getting scraped of it’s diseased portion in prep for a clean layer of gravel:

The back used to have a much bigger building that used the full width of the lot. The first course of block is still in, and the gap between that and the neighbors’ building is a great place to stick old car parts, 40oz bottles, and grow trees.

We’re going to pop all that out and go back with gravel.

Crushed limestone.

Yep. We’re putting down a base with concrete dust first so it doesn’t just sink into the mud. Everything drains through there.

Shops coming right along! if you can I’d consider a geo textile fabric. That’s the key to keeping your gravel from migrating down and the mud from coming up through. Want 4” on top to prevent it becoming exposed. Sod staple it down and overlap 12”. Woven is more durable and will shed water, non woven allows water to pass through better. Depend on the drainage situation which may be better in you application. Man I miss my dingo even though it was an older diesel 222 unit.

@jfz80 good recommendation on where to buy it at? I need some around the shop. Do the big box stores carry anything worth looking at, or should I be talking to a specialty store.
