I am thinking of trading my GMC in on a late 90's 80. Besides the obvious interior, exterior and checking compression, anything I should look for?

Thanks,

Ken

I won't be like Pimp, but it will be a start!

Ken,

We've had several discussions on this in the past. Check the newbie guide on Christo's web site. He has a good section on what to look for in selecting a used truck.

Late '90s puts you as a candidate for either the '96/'97 80-Series or the '98/'99 100-Series. They're both Land Cruisers but there are as many differences between those two models as there are between the 60 and 80 series.

Let us know if you're looking at an 80 Series; otherwise drop on over to the 100 section for their advice.

Thanks,
I like the look of the 80 better. I'll modify my target years. I'll go to Christos sight. He is a nice guy and a member of my 4 wheel club.

Ken,

You would be well served by an 80 regardless of year model. Since Christo is in your pocket, he will be an EXCELENT source to assist in your search.

As a side note I have owned a bunch of 4WD vehicles in my 30+ year driving experience. My 80 is, by far, the very best. Period.
