... and would hate to run some of those "ledge trails" in Colorado with a full-size.

:flamingo:

You just have to be a little crazy! Just a couple of weeks ago I did Mineral Creek Road in my Dodge Power Wagon...

Now as far as the expeditionary type vehicle, while in colorado I ran across a couple of Swedish guys in a funny looking Land Cruiser. I did think to myself if I could get one of these smuggled into the United States I would take off at least 3 months every summer to explore everything from California to Montana. Here was their truck...

EDIT: still not good for trails, but a cool truck ;)

... so if you talking to Christo, expedition truck, not a full size, would that be an LC 80 or a 100?

Actually Christo agreed a Ty-ota platform would not be the best choice for my stated needs. He gave me some fantastic ideas that are based on various other platforms. He had a superb sense of what my vehicle needs to be and was a tremendous help. Christo is truly a class-act and a pleasure to talk to.

What a concept. :grinpimp:

I'll bet Kowboy could out wheel most anyone with only a 67 Volkwagon beetle.

Been there, done it, and three of us picked the bug out of a mud hole and set it on dry ground.

Well with that said... My guess is one of these beauties.:steer:

All kidding aside, I understand where kowboy is headed. After my return trip form CO at the begining of August, my yearning for more expedition style wheeling was peaked.:hhmm: There are so many places that can be done without having to tow my rig to get there. (Rubicon, Moab, Baja, etc...) Just got to have the right platform to start from. The thought of selling my rig was well placed into my head until my wife slapped it out of me.

The 4runner will just be outfitted with a new engine with more giddy up.:D

X2. I'm still thinking something along the lines of Trent-Fab buggy with a Cruiser hood..... Strap a RTT to the top of cage and get-ur-did :flipoff2:

you rang?:grinpimp:

i can be gettin it done yes i can.

i can do truggys too...:grinpimp:

Trail-worthy, factory v-8, auto, SOA,PS and PB with enough room to sleep in the back! Heck, I've owned one of those for 29 years now: K-5 Blazer!

Made it thru Little Sluice on 33's!

No custom shell to worry about 'bumping' every once in a while.

What can I say? Great minds think alike!:D

i have always been a lover of the K5, i think the axles are a little small but with a little coin it wouldnt take much to make one pretty nice.
lets not forget they were also available in a diesel, and if the one picked up wasnt diesel it would be easy to convert it to just about any diesel you wanted to run.

a complete cummins 6BT from a 94-98.5 dodge (mechanical injection pump) goes for 950-1250 with around 120-150k miles and they will usually warranty it for a short period as well.

I know the truth.......but I aint tellin, anybody that wants to know will have to show up to the 3X's garage sale Sunday and ask Kowboy themselves:grinpimp:

I know also, but am sworn to secrecy..........

Oh what the hell
Kowboy after much soul searching and many sleepless nights just could not forgit the amazing BJ he got in an alley in New Orleans.....................he shared this touching story with some of us on a deck in Clayton Ok a few years back, after and exhaustive search by some of the top PI's in the country he has located the administrator of said BJ..........the have re kindled the passion and are re-uniting.

Nahleans eh? That explains it all!

He's buying a HOUSEBOAT!:bounce::bounce::bounce:

The way AEV is importin' 'em and gettin' a title for 'em is prob'ly legal ... maybe. :meh:

As Christo so wisely pointed out to me ... the problem with makin' the ass-end of a wagon into an expedition vehicle is workin' 'round the fender wells, curves, roll bar, etc when tryin' to fit any type of drawers, cabinets, fridge etc.

Therefore, I'm seekin' an easier option than a 4-door JK ... or an 80 or 100 Land Cruiser.

My research continues ... and I'm gettin' close I think.
