i have installed a 2.5" OLD MAN EMU suspension LIFT kit now

includes a front diff drop kit

rear load sensor valve drop / extension bracket

rear U bolts longer , gold cad plated


new rear EMU shocks

new front pre-assembled coil overs

this is hands down the best ride i have ever experienced firm and responsive


next up larger BFG's A/T 687 raised whites letters OUT

BORLA .........

all stainless Resonator B pipe back


my current resonator / collector B pipe is at the END of its life cycle :confused:

so ...........

i pipe dreamed up how best to replace it ?


- YES walker and some other GHETTO brands at rock auto , aluminized steal fancy words for junk metal


- after some home work i realized that is the original B pipe on there without question , so ...

- i ordered one up from my Toyota commercial acct. rep and to my surprise it was ONLY like $40 more approx. then the rock auto ones

- the moment i had it in my hands i put my junk-yard magnet on it , and low and behold its stainless , only minimal magnetism !

- so 5 minutes later on was on the shop-hot-line with my boy @cruisermatt , from cruisermatt';s off road in winter park FL , he is the best TIG welder i have ever seen

and i proposed my idea i hatched for more over all horse power : 🤔


- cut away / remove the LAME new oem Toyota B pipe resonator cylinder shape thing , and sleeve in a straight section of stainless steel tubing instead

- this removal of air flow resistance should translate into more Gitte-up and go , combined with the current K-N real mcCoy cold air intake , AIRAIDE throttle body spacer

and the Borla dual tail pipes current stainless steel system ,

not to mention it will be a whole hell of alot louder i am assuming , more JDM rumble off the green light


see parts diagram below : call out # 17420 will be a all straight pipes section now and all stainless steel too ..........

We jigged up a new OEM B-pipe and deleted the resonator.
Replaced the Toyota part # sticker at Matt’s request of course.
Unfortunately the Toyota 409 material doesn’t lend to TIG very well. For anyone wanting to do this I would recommend getting matching 409 material and appropriate MIG wire that the alloy is designed for

Boxed up and ready to head to Annapolis. :cool:
