I am getting a new sound system for my car and I was just wondering what is the best CD deck to get?

personnaly I like sony decks. they seem to not skip even on rough roads. but i am not a big stereo guy. no subs in my truck. i like to hear tires and gears. Oh and talk radio.

i'm not stereo guy either but the stereo guy who installed mine claims that pioneer takes the best beating, i'm happy with mine, haven't had it skip yet

Also have a pioneer in mine, pretty darn good- for a leaf sprung truck, I've only heard it skip once.

But, you can purchase a $50 Pioneer deck, or a $500 pioneer deck, it's all about how much you are willing to spend. I limited myself to $100 per component (deck, speakers, etc), and am very happy with what I have now.

I once owned an Integra with a $3k stereo system, and it sounded great, but not 300 times better than what I have now...

I've always had pioneer until I got the truck I have now, which already had a kenwood in it. I hate that thing! All my pioneers rocked, and went forever! This kenwood won't spit out CD's if it is too cold.

Iv got a JVC MP3 deck. This thing rules.
it has never skipped. and I can have 10 hours of music on one cd. it also plays regular CD's superbly.

Alpine.

I had a pioneer in my old 4x4 and it worked great, that thing simply would not skip! The only time I eaver heard it skip is when the bolts holding it in rattled loose and the thing fell out of the dash and landed on my shifter when I was going over a set of railroad tracks.

The fosgate that came with my 60 blows!
I have a sony in my car and it is kinda picky about burned cds.
Kenwoods skip.
Alpine is nice if you can or want to spend that much.
Clarions skip and are hard to work the controls when you are bouncing around offroad.

I have an Alpine that has seen some pretty bumpy roads - no skipping!!

i'm running a sony 10cd changer and it never skips...i love it

Me? I like live entertainment, so I mounted Bubb Rubb himself to my dashboard, now I got lots o' sound---WOOOOOT! :D

Actually, I've got a low-end Sony--only skips on the HARDEST of slams, the ones that hurt so bad you're not really caring about sound quality and instead are wondering if anything's shaken off the truck. I have tons of Sony products, I'm happy with all of them. :)

Blaupunkt - toast after about 9 months of dust and bad roads. Otherwise, the sound was fine.

I have a pioneer deck & pioneer changer. Both installed by the PO, with the changer in the tuffy box. The changer has never skipped.

Oh s*** I forgot about skipping! My truck feels like the suspension is placed on bricks.
