Going strong now. Tons more on the vines, just waiting for everything to ripen.

I hate you;). Gypsies are one of my favorites. Until a few years ago, I had a massive plant that produced 3x as much as I could eat. A hail storm and two hard freezes killed it back to about a foot tall and it never recovered. I've not had good luck with them since.:(

Hail and driving rain did a number on my garden, beat the crap out of the Cukes.

A pergola with shade cloth is good protection.

Crazy weather!
Crazy indeed, if it were typical I'd have some kind of protection rigged.

@spressomon eggplant is setting fruit I should have a half dozen or so in a couple of weeks, lots of fresh green beans, if you are in town stop by and I'll hook you up with whatever is ready.

They make good compost after everyone is sick of them.

Spent half an hour with my grand daughter in the garden eating sweet peas and baby beet greens, raw. We do that nearly every afternoon, best times ever. Every kid deserves to watch a garden grow from seeds. They need to know food comes from the ground, not the freezer section of the mega store. I know they see that on TV and learn it in school but actually planting seeds, watching them grow, and eating the result is so much different.

Rusty, that is priceless. I spent 20+ yrs in Ag and 14 yrs as a PCA walking fields and peddling poison. I still grow a garden to teach my boys about vegs and bugs. Predators and economic pests. They were ID'ing black widows, male/female/growth stages by the 3rd grade.
Hey dad the wasps are hitting the aphids, and the ladybug larva are doing real good too.

Just did the bean fertilizer trick. Haven't done it in a few years. Hopefully, it'll give my plants a boost in the fall.

I didn't realize I was growing pumpkins this year...

Ok Rob, You use a different name than what I'm used to. Yes I've had growers use horse beans (local name for fava) as a "Green Manure Crop" utilizing the Nitrogen fixation of legumes. Legumes are a big and important rotation crop in our area. Garbanzos, and alfalfa being 2 of the most popular.
