It looks like a Highlander. If you don't think so, then you've got denial issues. If someone doesn't want to buy something that looks like a Highlander, it's their prerogative.

I guess I am in denial. I also wonder why you are so easy to berate someone because they don't agree with you about the looks of a vehicle is amazing to me.
For the record I don't really care if someone has the same opinion as me or not. What I don't get is why some people have to try to tell others that because they don't agree with them, they have to be wrong, in denial, or stupid.
I wonder what the first people who wanted to drive OFF the ROAD were told by people who didn't see things the way they do.

Remember my advice about not defending the 200 every time anyone says anything that could be construed as negative about it? You should heed it. You're going to burn yourself out. Why do you care what people say?
That being said, it looks like a Highlander. It just does. It's not even that subjective. That doesn't make it one.

I went to the Boston Auto Show this weekend as well
and I agree that Toyota seems to be going for the "family of vehicles"
design that GM and others have always had....pretty bland unfortunately.
The LC was next to the Highlander and near a RAV4 as well, and they looked the the 3 bears
I thought the LC looked a bit better in person, and it's definetly nice inside and presumably
well engineered. It looked a lot tighter than the new Sequoia, which just looked bloated.
I'll stick with my utilitarian 80 Series (no one probably said that about it in 1996 though
)

A family look is definitely what they are going for. It seems everyone is trying to do that these days. Too bad...individuality is something to be cherished!
I've never denied the two vehicles look simlilar. I just don't care.
What I've always said is:
If one discounts the merits of the new LC because it looks like a Highlander then that's plain shallow. If they dog it they make them selves look plain stupid as there isn't a ONE OF THEM that wouldn't luv to drive it to their workplace and have their friends see that it is THEIRS!
These same folks who make fun of the new LC looking like a Highlander seem to forget that their precious 80-series units look just like a 4Runner especially when you ARB Bull Bar them up (which most 80 wheelers do). So the 80 and Runner look alike too, yet the 80-purists claim their dear 80-series was the best Cruiser ever. Why now aren't they holding the new Cruiser high over the Lander like they do/did their 80's? They want it both ways and some of them make me sick.
You wanna barf? Pass what I just did on I-10. It was so disgustingly plain and ugly. It was a MB R500 though I'd be the last too post such a comment on the MB R500 forum.

I won't fit in until all the 55-80 series vehicles have crashed and/or been destroyed. Once everyone owns a 100-series or newer I'll fit in because my words like below won't hurt them any more:
The 100 is improved in so many ways.
The 100 is extremely capable on the trails.
I prefer the 100 on the trails over my two higly modified 80's.
The 100 is simply the best Cruiser ever (until 2008 when the 200 came out)

That R500 thingy is so horrendous I cannot come up with any comparisons. Park it next to a 200 and the 200 instantly becomes quite attractive...
Stop making statements like the one highlighted in yellow. I for one have absolutely no interest at this point in owning a 200 and couldn't care less about driving it somewhere and having so and so seeing me in it.
