Definately have to give it a go if I'm ever in that neck of the woods then, thanks!

Two good friends of mine actually became certified barbecue judges for the Kansas City Barbecue Society. They both ended up quitting after the second competition because "none of this s*** tastes like Archibald's."

Or the time in high school when one of the girls in my class, who was a vegan, went there with the volleyball team, smelled the food, ate it knowing what it was, and became a normal omnivore for the rest of her life.

I've heard Archibald's isn't even the best BBQ in Alabama, let alone the entire SE - is Dreamland BBQ all talk?

Dreamland is good, but Archibald's is much better. You have to go to the original Dreamland in Tuscaloosa on Jug Factory Road. The rest suck.

Smoker started at 5:30am, two butts on by 6:00, brined and rubbed.....making some vinegar sauce now...

Sounds good to me.

Drunks ousted from hotel lobby at midnight, other drunks chased out of closed spa area at 0100...
A lot less fun than BBQ.

I forgot to take photos of the meat. Turned out fine. Took longer than usual because I was fighting a windy snowstorm so the smoker temp was difficult to maintain.

When it was windy outside or really cold I've draped a moving blanket over the smoker. Has worked well and cheap.

I considered that. I'm thinking of building an insulated smoke shack so I can BBQ all winter. I could keep wood dry in there too.:hmm:

Cooked some ribs on memorial day. I was lazy and cooked them on the gas grill. Turned out great. About an hr on the grill at 275 and about 2 hrs in the oven covered in tinfoil for a couple more.
