Not getting to spend the time I'd like with this rig yet. Am still in the pleasant surprise mode. Noticed something new last night.
After 47 years you'd think the cover for the trouble light plug would get lost, but there it is.

I have never seen a trans bump pierced by a 4 speed conversion before. It took me a minute to realize: it’s not because of the 4 speed; it’s because of the PTO!

That’s when you take pictures... daylight is for working on cruisers!!
Unfortunately, daylight is for my day job to fund my Land Cruiser habit.

No, Keith! Never say, "habit", especially if you-know-who might hear you. That word carries much negative connotations. It's a "productive hobby".
I stand corrected:

Unfortunately, daylight is for my day job to fund my "productive hobby".

The PO said this was the original key. But he wasn't the original owner. Forget Waldo, find the TEQ.

The ignition switch was rather tempermental, you had to hold your nose just right or it wouldn't engage. Put in a new OEM one correct for this year. Plug and play is neat.

I'm ready for that throttle cable Matt! It will be handy for the PTO, and it will fill in a hole in the dash. @Living in the Past said ~four years back that the throttle knob had moved to under the dash by this time, so placement in the dash will be old school.

i would NEVER question @Living in the Past being My personal Oracal of all things TEq great and small :)

but i know the 75-later 2F it was moved to under the dash

i have never seen a peddle attachment throttle for a F engine Pre-74 that i can recall ?

But , The later 2bbl F engine carbs did not have a throttle cable attachment provision either ,

this is a good new Thread topic

Geometric. I have a 'local' Toyota dealer in The Dalles that also has an internet store. Pretty convenient.

Were 2bbl carbs themselves incompatible with the throttle cable? My engine presently has a Rochester, would like to take it back to stock. What was stock?

Could Mr. T have painted the diamond plate running boards body color in '71-'72?

I swear spring green is peaking out from under some silver paint. Did Mr. T use spring green as a primer under final silver, or was this a PO's effort? Seems like in most modern day pics of this vintage, the boards are silver. Some restorations paint the frame and the diamond plate. I want to strip off the silver, at least on outer frame.
