Where did you (plan to) put your deer harvest?
We had a hitch carrier with a 77L I've chest and firewood. The same one from earlier in the thread. It did the trick. The bigger difficulty was trying to figure out how to get an elk out. We managed to do the 77 and 55 coolers on top of the rear platform in the back and then the 115 on the carrier. It wasn't easy to pull off. We got a UTV about a year ago, so this last season we towed the UTV out with our 1 ton diesel which was a bit easier. We typically will drive in a few miles and then backpack a few more miles from there.

Here's a couple pics that show how I've packed it. In the picture showing the inside, the two ice chests are behind the black and red totes.

Figured you had a hitch carrier; just didn't see it in the pic.

I'm seeing this more and more with hunters. 1 ton diesel pulling UTVs or electric bikes (often in a toy hauler). Ride the UTV or e-bike as far in as you can and hike from there.

Yeah, pretty common, though most I see with utvs and quads don't go more than a few hundred yards from their rig lol.

In our case, we just wanted to be able to haul ass locally without fear of wadding up the cruiser when out enjoying the desert. Furthermore 98% of damage the cruiser has sustained has been while hunting, so we wanted to give it a break on that. I also wanted to be able to get my wife farther out in the rocks at Hammers.

Finally got around to installing the Kings. As it turned out, the UTV was giving us trouble at KOH this year so we ended up using the Cruiser all week instead. Johnson Valley is probably one of the best places to really put the Kings through their paces and holy smokes. What an upgrade. It really is night and day difference. The truck drives much better both on and off road.
