Hello,

Looking good. One mean rig you got...

How much did you move the front axle? 30 mm like in the Red Barron?

such a neat looking middy mate! Red Barrons looking in a bit of a sorry state though. What gauges have you got on the dash?

Thanks mate,

The Red Barron is looking damn fine! https://forum.ih8mud.com/70-series-tech/269633-red-barron-fj73-middy-2.html

I wish I had polished it when I first got the thing!

The guages are "Autogauge" Boost and oil pressure, I have a Auber digital EGT to go in soon too.

As for the Bullet, dual batteries are now in and ARB compressor mounted.

The engine bay is getting cramped, when I get a decent pic I will post it up.

Installed a 1'' body lift today, was really easy with only one stuck original body bolt. I have also stripped the carpets and rear seats in preparation for some cage work.

Anyone know what I cannot change the title of this thread? I have tried but it wont carry over to the title

Not sure, have you tried changing the title in the first post of the thread?

Otherwise it might need a forum administrator to do it?

Hows that overheating problem going?

your toy should be fine on the 35"s MY stock 13B-T TROOPY pulls 35"s and the lag is not too bad and its a lot heavier than your 7x (3000kg loaded up with kit). Are you running tubes in them or a rim locks? If not I would recommend running truck tubes (drill out the valve stem) at least. This will stop the tires spinning on the rims in the mud/water. DOn;t forget SIMEX's run very well soft (4-5 lugs on the ground offroad) but on the highway they chew out very badly if left soft (we run 35psi+ here on the highway).

Spent the long weekend so far making up some new door trims and install a cd player and speakers, they came out pretty well I recokon. Also fitted up my winch bar. Pretty pleased with the approach angle now, with the 35''s on the shackles will hardly get in the way.

cool door trims same as i have done. YOu can polish the shine away with emery cloth and it makes a nice patter if you do circles. very arty.

make sure the door trims do not resonate they need something behind them - i.e. sound proofing.

My simex are 35x11.5R15 with Staun internal beadlocks which I find great. On tough slipery outings I run them at 5psi all around and 36psi on road. I havent used them yet on my BJ74 as they dont fit yet I still need to chop the front guards approximately 25-30mm.

Since I need a new gearbox I am having one rebuilt with 2.3 ratio low range up from the stock 1.9 ratio low range which will make it pretty good offroad I think especially once I get the snorkel, 3'' exhaust and tune done and winde the boost up.

The door trims I lined on the back side with a acrylic self adhesive fibre stuff, no drumming at all and they are easy to clean mud off!
