Oh....you're the Dave Connors from TT...I really enjoyed your article in the most recent TT. It really gave me some things to think about especially considering I am a newbie to cruisers and wheeling. Your points of view were well appreciated by someone who is looking to develop more skills (driving and wrenching!).

Thanks again and the rig looks great.

Best.

Thanks Beno. I am that Dave Connors. I wrote the article as a reminder to myself that I still have a lot to learn but I've had good feedback on it so far. Of course driving my new lumbering automatic wagon has been the real world reminder that wheeling is a continual learning process.

love the avatar of Phil by the way. You need to attach a streaming wav of Unbroken Chain so we can take in the beauty that is Phil's voice...

Lucky scoop Dave. I really like that truck. I can't believe you were wheelin' it with the towbar still bolted up. Take that thing off there asap! I agree about not wanting to beat up a beautiful truck like that, that's why mine's not too beautiful anymore.

I still can't get you westerners, shorts/flipflops with a hat and coat on? You all have rubbed off on my sister while she has been out there (no perverted jokes :flipoff2: ). Now she wears shorts in the winter?

Welcome to the board dude.

Why take the receiver hitch off? So it drags on a few things...it is STOUT! Unlike the running boards . I left mine on at Roundup and sure it would drag but I would hit it that drag the bumber and have to go pick it up and throw it inside because you ripped it off...or the bumper end caps I should say. I think is pretty good ass-end protection if you ask me...

Sorry to hijack...

Nice looking mods!!! hmmm wanna trade...we wouldn't even probably have to change the registration...just the address :D.

Another vote for your great TT article as well!

Trailer hitch will stick around until I can find the time and $$$ to get a rear bumper made. Dave you're right, that thing is perfect for dragging on the rocks. I was very late in the innovation curve and have wheeled with Wasatch Cruisers members for years that have 80s. I've seen a lot of sandstone grooved by the receiver hitch on an 80 and plan to do the same.

heck ya! Groove on...;) The only "damage" I got from Roundup was the saftey chain loops folded in a bit. Which is 1/4" steel and wouldn't bend back with me hitting them several times with my BFH....guess they will stay bent. More out of the way now...:D

Welcome to the forum. BTW, your club has the coolest club hats going. I even wore one to my own club's meeting when I was pres :D

I guess we'll let you in even though TJK seems to be keen on ya :flipoff2:

Welcome to the mainstream interweb David... Glad to see you had the brass to bust out the hole saw ;)

Taco sellout...
