Looks ok but i would have done it a little differently. Wish i was around to help out but why didn't you use more triangulation?

I blame Ted he is good at convincing people into "good" or maybe easier ideas :flipoff2:

Too late now though I'm sure it will be fine either way.

My pic's suck. I hope you are working on it again tomorrow I miss actually working at dad's shop.

Armchair cage building from the left coast--give Nancey P. our regards.t :flipoff2:

we talked about a lot of ideas and NO we didn't take the easy way out either. Cid's cage isn't much different and I'm sure it's more than adequate.:

Like Ted said, we talked a lot about what to do with the roof and we came up with what we did cause of head room.

Sid- I like the idea of letting the new members use his 40 as a "practice" rig...it can't go anywhere no though cause it doesn't have any tires...

Right. I needs to be used sometime.

What is the backspacing on those beadlocks again?

since I already bugged Steve abut this a couple months back i can fill in the gaps.

They're Champion Beadlock wheels with 3.5" BS, not conversion or DIY but rather forged--which basically means stand on your head and empty your pockets. Wheels are really nice and run about $350 a piece new.

I am sure he would let me "borrow" them show them off for a while :grinpimp:

Actually my real wheels came in today and I dropped them off with John tonight so his guys can mount them up tomorrow. Saturday we will have a realistic view of how much we will have to trim...

Longfields and axles came in today too...

Looking really good! When is this beast going to make it's debut?

The initial goal was to have it all ready to go by GSMTR, but is should be done in plenty of time for GSMTR. I hope to have it ready for a shake down at Ralph's run in a few weeks so we will have time to fix anything that isnt working right.

here ya go Nick-- Notice the shape of the cage

Yea, it has the same straight back bars in the middle. That was a pretty good roll over too...

A couple pictures from Saturday at the shop...

1st- When John got the tires mounted, he wanted to see them on Josh's truck...they look pretty good....39's in your near future??

2nd- The Franken80 with the tires finally on, plus we put in the bar from the B pillar to the back.

3rd- Close up picture of the bar from the B pillar to the back. It follows the body line, because I plan to add sheet metal to close up the back of the buggy.

Your 39's do fit pretty good on my truck don't they :hhmm:

The truck looks good what is left to finish before it is up and running? Final welding, exhaust, skins, and and gas tank filler mounting? Did you figure out why it won't lock in park?

The truck has a couple big things left and a lot of little things to still do...

Before test run
gussets, gussets, and more gussets, final welding, extended brake lines, gas tank filler relocated, fix whatever is broke in the front axle (might fix the park issue), install longfields, adjust the cables for the cable locker....i think that is it

Not crucial for test run
tire carrier, sheet metal, make bracket for middle console, tail lights, organize the wires

You going to be back by the time it is finished? Help install the Longfields?

Ted, John, and Dave are making bets on what parts are going to break first...
