Here's a teaser photo of the tranfer case adaptor mount. All made out of 3/16 and 1/4 inch 6" wide flatbar. It's like this: Stock cross member/stock drive shafts :hhmm: and a total cost of about $50.00. Hope to get it all finisned tomorrow. matt

You've got some cool stuff going on here...keep posting, and I'll keep reading! :)

Here's the finished product. It looks nasty because the paint wouldn't dry fast enough. It has poly urethane bushings and bolts to the stock cross member in the stock position. What else is cool is that the transfer case is in about the stock location so all the stock drive line will work. The mount cost about $50.00 and 8 hrs time. I also have the gas tank out and trying to figure out what chevy pump will fit in the Toyota fuel pump holder and pick up tube. I also need to figure out how to hook the chevy motor fuel lines (high pressure and return) to the stock lines. I have crossed a huge hurdle today and can put the transfer case in and on with more of the small stuff. I also picked up the stock Chevy truck mounts for the ECU and Fuse box to mount on the driver side inner fender panel. later matt

Yup...

Make sure to seal the ring and shaft splines with some black RTV.

I used #3 aviation gasket sealant for the paper gaskets. NO leaks so far.

BTW I'll be in Tucson 2maro... don't know If i'll be able to make it out to your pad though.

Some more pictures. Installed the output gear seal and installed the front half to the adaptor. It's really funny but I purchased a transfer case to use because I though mine was in bad shape. The one I bought had a bad output gear the output gear seal was put in backwards and the front output cluster had play in it. Spare parts. I have to put new bearings on the output cluster next. Pictures to follow. matt

MY tips:

Dont put the idler saft all the way down. You need it out to position it correctly, and install the o-ring. then you hammer it in.

Place duct tape of a small vise grip on the high-low shaft so it doesn't fall into the case when you put them together.

I got some more work done. The transfer case is back together but needed to do some fab work to get the transfer case shifter back to it original location. I took some measurements from the A440 where the mounting pivot was located. I was able to modify the bracket that came with the adaptor. I posted some pictures of what I did. I'm trying to keep everything in there original locations that way all the linkage stays the same. Here are some pictures.

1) This is the notch to make the extension.
2) The is the 1/4" plate to move the pivot
3) Finished product that shows notches to clear the transmission.

I still need to cut about 3/8" off the mounting boss to move the shifter closer to the transmission. I can tell it needs to be moved by the way that the shifter boot fits. Let me know what you think. matt

Got the Shifter linkage done. Had to flip the arm on the trans and make it about 1 1/4" longer so the pattern on the shifter matched. Welded a piece of metal on the stock linkage and then used the pieces from the stock Chevy cable and put the pieces together. Here's a few pictures. later matt

really enjoyed the fab of the engine mounts, maybe ill do somethin like that . great work man, nice pics  :hhmm:

Started some fuel system stuff. Here are pictures of the new fuel lines that tie in to the stock Toyota hard lines and The Chevy fuel rail w/ 6AN fittings. The fuel lines cost a whopping $16.83. Wanted to use teflon but could find an adapter for the metric Toyota end on the hard line. One more step taken care of. later matt
