In your opinion, how is the ride? I have heard mixed reviews
I have the same set up and I wouldn’t say it’s rough. I would say it’s firm. And actually getting rid of the factory boat like dynamics feels more confident on the open road. We actually prefer my LX on road trips over my wife’s 2017 TRD Off Road 4Runner because it’s firmer.

Is that stampede pass?

You are always going to such amazing looking adventures. Are most of these local to you, or are these big excusions?

Thanks! I do travel, but I'm a teacher so mainly in the summer...

After math of getting to the crag at Red River Gorge to do some lead climbing, mud pits so deep it almost swallowed the truck. Crammed 5 people inside with climbing gear and suspension was stuck on Lo, need King springs or some coil spacers after this trip.

This sounds too familiar! Happened to us also on several trips with the LX being loaded. Can't wait to remove the AHC altogether.

I would like to keep AHC going for as long as i can, it's sooooo smooth on the highway, you can barely feel any bumps, like riding on clouds. I think for moderate offroading, i'll be fine with AHC. I check up on the system every other week.

That means the system is operating as intended. Vehicle height cannot be raised if vehicle load exceeds the limits.

If the height control indicator indicates "LO" it's letting you know the vehicle is loaded too heavily and to drive vehicle with care. Page 161 of 2006 LC manual.

I get all that. It’s just disappointing that for a truck that’s marketed to be rugged, etc. the AHC system is rather wimpy and not heavy duty at all. It doesn’t take a whole lot of weight to overload the system based on my experience. Definitely a let down and I can see why so many have swapped to standard suspension. If you’re just driving around town with the family, it’s a great feature though!

King is your answer. $200.00 and you have the Weight issue fixed and the benefit of instant height adjust.
Let's keep this thread full of pics...
