So, to copy other popular Carolina based threads, post up your favorite camping gear and must haves. (I thought we had a thread like this but couldn't find anything...)

Everyone knows about my 3 story tent, with heat and running water. So I had to outfit the kitchen with a new (to me) stove and track lighting from Sears...

And yes, that is the color of my garage and floor... :)

Your tent is rather large - but it didnt seem like a PITA to set up!

Ive been wanting one of these for the back of the 40 on camping trips

Brian's tent is easy to set up I think that's the beauty of it. We set it up at 1am in the pitced black in September.

I really don't have a favorite piece of gear. But since my beer comes from my cooler I'd have to go with that one.

Gotta go with the ThermaRest. Ever since we ditched the airmatress, I've slept like a champ on mine. I'd buy a thicker one if I was forced to replace it, because I went with a "medium", but honestly don't know if it can get much better.

Love(d) our Kelty tent, since it was roomy, inexpensive, and dry - but in under 2 years it failed at one of the corners where the pole snaps into a plastic tab on the tent (ball and socket). Still able to rig it, but pretty disappointed they chose plastic in that design.

Yeti or Engel cooler to be added to the mix (before boating season) and I'm sure it will top the list.

What's a thermarest? If it replaces an air mattress, I'm all ears!

Sent from my EVO using IH8MUD

Hands down, Cabella's Alaskan Guide self inflating matresses. $99 each on sale when we bought them and worth every penny. Second is the tent from Cabela's which kept us dry during a rainstorm from Hell while wheeling at Coal Creek.

Whoa whoa whoa, Brian finds the Coleman thread in the camping section here on mud and decides he needs to show off his new schwag in the ONSC section as well? I'm so in! :D

Found a 425E in MINT condition at the antique store here in Morrisville with the original receipt. It came with a well-used 425F. I think I got both for $30.

I always shop around to see if I can find coleman gear at antique stores. Garage sales around here suck for this kind of stuff, but antique stores seem to be great!

Does anyone else have any sweet camping gear or know where to get some sweet used camping gear?

I'll play along...

First must be this tent, purchased just after Brianna was born in '93, still perfect, did Rubithon with it and the girls in '08. All the poles are shock cord, I can put it up myself if I have to, easy with 2. It allowed 2 double mattresses side by side with room for the dog at the foot of the beds...

Next would be this, 2nd only because its still relatively young, only been west of the Mississippi once, with more time, it will easily move to the #1 position...

Finally, must have a fridge/freezer, doubt I'll ever go back to using ice unless I'm desperate...

What you looking for? Tents or small gear or everything but the coleman stove...

That is beautiful, Coach! Love the trailer...

Here is my favorite camping gear! Need I say more? :flipoff2:

David is a valuable asset. Do you just haul him with you every time you camp? What else does he do besides cook amazing bacon? I got to, got to, get me one of those!!! ;)

I agree with the fridge / freezer. No more food poisoning due to insufficient ice or cross-contamination!

Always shopping for old Coleman gear and old cast iron, just about anything other than tents, hence my interest in antique stores.
