Andy, erymer....sucks for ya'll.

Andy, don't hurt that liver too bad, although if you're gonna drink to the same level ya'll got yer asses whooped then that liver is gonna croak over. Great game though, and I was EXTREMELY happy to have been there. I ended up in the student section and all was pretty friendly. Wake took the loss well, and VT didn't rub it in. All in all, great game to have been at wish you were there.

Ery, you must have hung out with the wrong VT crowd, none of the fans I know are like they. Yes, we ARE confident..but we can surely give you a good reason why (if you're actually talking to someone who knows football) we are gonna win. You said local fans, and that is about the smallest percentage of Hokie fans around, so don't hold their word against us.

Ha, LOL. Just getting in from hunting in NY and I knew there would be some chest thumping. Congrats on the victory.

Sorry for the delayed kudos, good game and a well deserved W.

Groves looked awesome on TV, even with the tough loss I love the prime time exposure for the Deacs.

Didn't hurt the liver too bad, no worries. It's a fun season when fans from Clemson, VT, BC, etc. have reason to take Wake seriously. ;)

Ha, reading the rest of the thread.

Kind of like David's point, at least Wake isn't the Rodney Dangerfield of the ACC anymore. :D

If it's not Hokies fans being too loud, then what is it?

I just have to say, that hit on Ore was dirty...and he better be able to play Saturday!!

LOL, that was far from dirty. Gattis was making a play and your RB got injured. Probably best not to mention dirty play from your position. ;)

Speaking of Hokie fans, while I was watching the game, a loud couple came into the bar and sat down beside me with about 5 minutes left in the game. They proceeded to tell me about how VT is having a great year, will win the conference as always and go to a great bowl. What's even more amusing than that you ask? They refused to believe that VT was now in the ACC.

Uh....I'm no dummy. I understand betting. Straight up it is then.
Cocks win, I win, Tigers win, you win. Loser sports the winner's
chosen avatar for a week here on Mud. Man, you better pray for
a victory. The avatar I have is SWEET. :grinpimp:
Here's to a clean game with no injuries!

OK, I figured this would be an active week for the fans of this huge rivalry. Surprised Richard is the only 1 showing up on the CU side so far. From what I've always seen this week is all about the smack talk!!

Good job on the avatar bet, David. I couldn't get Richard to take the same bet with me. :D

I never saw so many VT stickers till Erymer showed me around VA. And most of the fans can't name more than three players on the team. And usually they name off Marcus or Michael Vick. The Vicks aren't on the team anymore... *Shaking head* What do you do??? Just let them live in their "Happy Place."

Yea, there are plenty of Hokie fans who just cheer because they love the Orange and Maroon, just remember...there ARE fans who know what's going on.

Ok, the hit wasn't dirty, but everyone knows Ore has a s***ty knee...so it feels dirty for someone to hit low on him like that.

once an underdog....always an underdog

Who are you kidding? Wake was an underdog AT HOME against a lower
ranked team. If that isn't failure to get respect, what is?
LOWF still ain't got a chance. The Turtles will crush the Deacs. ;)
What's the line on that game? Is LOWF favored? :grinpimp:
Go Canes. Show 'em ya'll don't need SOS to take care of BC.
Go Dawgs.....stick it the A.C.C. is the weekend theme.

Oh, and kudos to the Lady Gamecocks for the trouncing of the
Lady Tigers. :princess:

You're right, Wake was the dog. You know we like being the dog! :D

You kind of missed my point which makes sense since it was plenty obtuse.

We're talking about 2 different crowds. LOWF won't ever get respect from Vegas and odds makers, and that's OK with me. In the 11 games Wake has played this year, if you took Wake and the points, well, let's just say (9-2) you've made out pretty well so far. ;)

I was talking about respect from the players, coaches, fans, etc. More important group to me and things are changing (at least right now) for LOWF in that regard!! :D

That's more like it. Except for last weekend, the Gundy pessimism has been a helpful component of this season. So, I guess it's Fear the Turtle!! ;)

It started as a pick 'em and right now looks like it's Terps by 1. We're the dog - woof, woof!!! :D

Now yer talkin' Pal! Nothing feels as good as playing with something to prove and a chip on your shoulder. Hey Turtles....I dare ya to knock it off!

Its a little early but lets give thanks, Thanks for 8 of the last 9, Thanks for last yrs seniors going 4-0 and this yrs trying to do the same, Thanks for the best true freshman running back, Thanks for the best defensive player in the country, Thanks for 63-36-4, Thanks for "The Catch", Thanks for 2 weeks to prepare since USC hasnt beaten Clemson with two weeks since 1896, Thanks for Tommy 6-1 vs USC, and Thanks for Steve Spurrier theres no better coach to watch throw away his career in Columbia. Lastly thanks for another good yr for UC everyone have a  for the club.

The Hurricanes beat BC last night in their final game of the season. Our defense was dialed-in but the offense made some dumb mistakes that should have caused them to lose again. Our back-up QB was in there and had some good and long pass completions, but also several interceptions, one for a BC TD.

Coker was upbeat and optimistic. Said he does not beleive he will be goinging anywhere.

Letter from Donna Shalala (UM)

This about sums up what everyone expected:

November 24, 2006

To the University Community:

It has been a difficult season for the Miami Hurricanes football program.

We have suffered disappointments and tragedy off and on the field.

We can and will do better for our student-athletes and our community.

We announce today that Coach Coker will no longer be our head football coach. I know that our community will join me in thanking Larry and Dianna Coker for their devotion to each and every student-athlete and for being wonderful citizens of our University and community. I want to thank our student-athletes who have worked very hard during a terribly difficult season. Coach Coker, his assistant coaches, and the team have handled this past month with class and courage.

---

He is and always was a classy and gracious guy.

Yeah Coker was always upbeat and wanted to talk about the positive. That will surely be missed. I'll be anxious to see who replaces him at the helm. Fox sports seems to think it is between Barry Alvarez, Greg Schiano, and there is still word about Spurrier. We'll see though. I would imagine that they make a good push for Greg Schiano of Rutgers. Especially after the season they put together up in Rutgers.

stuck at work and it seems like I am missing a great game with Clemson and USC....

Wow!

What a great game. The Tigers fought well.
Wide left will live in lore.
How 'bout them Cocks!
LOWF still ain't got a chance. ;)
