Not gardening per se, but my little house has never had any landscaping done. I decided to fix that this weekend.

Installed 2 60 gallon rain barrels, New Hanover county offered discount $120/ea retail, $90 each out the door. Used super easy to install diverters but opted for a cluster phawk of adapters to have a rigid line instead of the flexible pipe they offer in a kit. I considered the volume of water I may see at times and wanted the benefit the rigid line will offer, staying straight and not becoming a p-trap and giving the back pressure to overflow into the downspout.

Did a test flow, putting garden hose in the gutter above the downspout, worked perfectly. I will build a surround to hide the fact I have 2 60 gallon trash cans in front of my house now...

@Mtbcoach Did you paint that house to match your old FJC or was it like it already? Looks more like Redline’s Kodak Yellow from the old RL20 and RL22 bmx bikes.
Almost but not quite, going for the best frozen snack from the ice cream truck...creamsicle 😋 being at the beach, why be conventional 🤪

Rain barrel after last storm, according to my Vantage Pro2 weather station, received 0.10" rain for the 24hrs, estimate 50% full = 30gallons  Pretty crazy to get that kind of collection with such a light rain. I need to double check my weather station to see that it's calibrated correctly, regardless, the 2 barrels will surely take care of my needs, as long as we still get some rain...;)

Late, but long gorwing season. Soome tomatoes, squash and watermelon. I add a soil amendment due to the sandy soil (think 90% sand) and leave the planted area low rather than add a berm around it. Seems to work better for me

Also got the last level (top) on my tomato trellis. they can just grow down when they get taller.

This is a new squash plant I’m trying this year - lemon squash. Took a while to start fruiting but it looks like it will have a bunch here soon.

My garden currently looks like the wilds of borneo. I haven't had any time to keep up with it since spring hit. I may have to do the unthinkable and hire....... a Gardner untill work dies down.

I guess this is garden related...my in-laws gave me a blue oyster mushroom growing kit for my birthday a couple weekends ago (from Haw River Mushrooms). I followed directions and it’s crazy watching these grow from day to day. Took my first harvest today. Hope to get another 2-3 more over the next month or so.

Nice, I've done a couple kits inside, too - now venturing outdoors with one - will see how it goes - prolly better than @jfz80 and my site doesn't get tossed by someone else ;)......

Maturing white? Have done the patty pans but ended up yellow. Sadly no squash this year.

Only peppers and tomatoes This year and everything seems to be delayed or stunted but coming along. I think I went a lil heavy on shroom compost in the mix.

Finally pulling some tomatoes and serranos but waiting on all the other peppers.

Midnight snack and Romas leading the way

I know Jon has to have a nice spread?!?
Anyone else?

Just peppers here this year. Next year trying to get back in soil, on time, and with more variety.
