More yard chores...will get back to land cruisers one day.

Knocked out a flagstone path this afternoon (over top of the previously posted French drain). Will be stacking another 40ish wall blocks in the AM and 180 capstone pieces to hopefully say the retaining wall is done.

Also have a bunch of ferns, grasses and heuchera to plant.

Dude, thought this was a "vacation" home???

Nice work!

We got our pit in and about 40ish tons of rock spread before the 4th.

Base of 3/4, then fines, topped with 1/2". All compacted tight.

Still need to finish the drain in front of the door and grade the drive in. Then its on to stacking a short wall and finish grading with seed and straw.

@jfz80 got me hooked on pepper jelly last year, and that spiraled into gardening.

Started four superhot varieties the first week of Jan from seeds purchased from RareSeeds. They're doing well! Need some warmer weather for them to take off.

Have a few other things growing too, but they're baby still, not worthy of pictures.

I like those trees in the background what part of the country is that at I wish I could buy a house in western Washington but the homes here are just so flipping expensive

Durham, north Carolina!

Interesting. I would like to travel to the east coast some day. What is the cost of living like?

Taxes are pretty cheap, many other things are too IMHO. All depends on your frame of reference though.

Superhots are almost as big as the tomato plants now. Nutty. They're all budding/flowering, so that's exciting.

This habanero is huge! Not ripe yet, but it'll get there.

Dang! My peppers are getting big but no flowers yet. Might need to add some bone meal.

All we got were a couple of huge yellow squash and a bunch of yummy tomatoes with more to come

And the excitement builds. @jfz80 the carrot hot sauce was incredible and the Carolina reaper jelly was to die for. THanks man. Hope I got the names right.

@jfz80 that new tree looks great? What type of pine is that and how big to they grow...I’ve got the itch to plant a new tree.

New one is Pinus parviflora ‘templehoff ’

Might be a bit close but I’ll move it if it’s ever an issue. Google says (once you average a dozen different answers) 7-10 tall and 3-4 wide in 10 years. That would work great if accurate and odd slightly larger than human scale size to hit

Old one was Japanese white pine. Dwarf double branching variety which I think was its demise with the sudden swap to rain and humidity after all that heat and such dense structure. Not sure.
