Frank called the meeting to order at ~7 PM, as TJ (I mean FJ) was still driving north from DIA.

Members present were Frank, Jason, FJ and Eric got there late. Hank and Brady showed up later.

No raffle as no one brought raffle prizes, however, we did have nice pizza! Thanks Frank!

FJ indicated that club members should PM him how they want to vote in the upcoming TLCA elections. Inform yourself here: https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=103719
The only positions having more than 1 candidate are Central Mountain Rep and MSVP.

Following the TLCA elections, the club needs to elect their own officers. We presently do not have enough nominations to fill the next year's board. This is a problem. We will defer elections until the January meeting. If we do not have a board in place for 2007, we can do possibly 4 options:

1, Continue on - ignorance is bliss
2, Fold the club - call it quits
3, Allow the club to go dormant while trying to attract new members (see Jason's marketing ideas below)
4, Try to fold the club into an existing club.

Jason's idea was to pursue the future of TLCA club members by marketing to those purchasing new FJ Cruisers. FJ volunteered to secure promo copies of Toyota Trails form the TLCA for placement in each FJ sold at Pederson Toyota. We would like to have a CLUB LOGO to include with this packet as well, but the logos have never materialized. Yes, I am pointing fingers, you know who you are...

Hank suggested making the club known on CO4x4.org

Trail run needs to be organized. Probably will be after New Years. Brady will organize.

The bottom line is that we need YOU! The future of the club is in question unless we see some leadership.

The meeting was adjourned ~8:30 by FJ. Conversation drifted to rigs and tech questions. As it should...

Sorry I couldn't make it, I was selling MY 80...:frown: yes last meeting was the wifes 80....last night my 80....I have no more 80's to sell...I will be at the next one :D

At least I have an HJ45!!! woot woot!

Anyways, i think winter is probably the hardest time of year for club activity. ESPECIALLY DECEMBER holiday months. Happy chrismachanakwanzika to you...

I doubt you'll get much info out of Colorado4x4.org....there is a *small* number of cruiser people there...VERY small...but i guess anywhere is worth a try...

My vote is to wait to jump to any conclusions til after the new year/feb as it's just winter is a harder time for people wanting to go out and off-road/plan/etc...

I have been lurking about for a while, but since the club sounds like it is strugling it is time to step up. However, before I do I have some questions. Do you have to be a TLCA member to join? What is the difference between an associate and a full member? How many meetings do you have to make in a year? Finally, is any body interested in carpooling from Laramie?

I never knew John Cleese liked Pigs!

I agree with you that the holidays are a hard time to mobilize many folks.

What concerns me more than a lack of participation as we head into winter are issues we have had since we started last spring...

It seems like we are having a hard time carrying on basic club functions, like interacting with the CO and WY 4WD Associations. And the TLCA. Even more basic club functions like designing and submitting a logo - hasn't happened. AFAIK we haven't even distributed a club roster to folks who have signed up.

It also seems like this section of MUD is mostly inhabited by myself, you, and Ige.

So I guess I just question if the club members have what it takes to pull this off...

Jason and Brady's ideas are great, and they could help attract new members, but we need a functioning infrastructure when they get here.

Just my $0.02...

I too apologize for not being at the meeting Amber and I didn't back from Breck until 8ish so I figured it a loss.

I know people can't make it to all the meetings. Hell, I haven't made it to all the meetings, and I'm the Pres. I am just trying to let people know that the club is not excelling...

We encourage folks to sign up for TLCA if they are a member.

Associate members do not vote, full members can vote on club matters.

AFAIK, there are no requirements for # of meetings, but it is obviously more fun to meet all the club members.

Dave and James are over in Cheyenne, I don't know of many other folks in Laramie... Or you could put together a trail run up there and we can come up there!

Happy Holidays!

Count me in! Never wheeled in Wyoming other than I-80 in a snow storm.

I too would like to join your club. But i have 1 small problem, my 40 is strung out through my entire garage. I hope i can get it put together by this spring. And with my work schedule i will miss some of the meetings and events.

I would have some interest in joining the mix, seems unorganized which is fine, sometimes a loose group of good people is OK...

I live in Ft Collins and am on MUD once in a while and none of the guys I wheel with are ever on it so to gain membership through MUD may not be the ticket. Aren't most of the northern Colorado guys with Rising Sun???

I have met a few of you guys over the years and had never heard of the club, so please contact me about future events.

I'd like to keep the club as one..... The past year and a half have been hell on my family with a move and a huge loss of income... we are just now getting back on our feet.... I can make meetings as money fo fuel isnt an issue.... I also would like to know if folks wouldnt mind moving the meeting to a different day?

DMAX... Im also in Cheyenne.... if you need help with your 40 please let me know.... I love working on cruisers.

We'd be happy to have you even with the 40 in pieces - just ask Nick aka USMCruiser!

Well, it seems helpful to have a place to communicate electronically.

MUD is free, Toyota specific, and Woody gives us this club section free of charge.

Some people in N Co are in Rising Sun, including me.

The best way to stay current on events is to make them happen and post them up here so we can join you.

Thanks for swinging in here!

MinniPigg, that sounds good i will try to get in touch with you in a little over a week when i go on days off again, and it looks like i will have to join the club too.
