Believe me, I am looking forward to being able to make that post, but apparently perfect beautiful weather is not good enough to motivate people to get off their butts and get some work done.

I'm also done "guessing" what may happen next as my order of work thought process is obviously flawed.

Subs... Cant live with 'em and can't kill em. The good weather makes 'em go fishin or go smoke weed in the cul-de-sac.

It's funny you say that because that was exactly what my GC said, but hunting, not fishing. Honestly if they will just get some power in the house so we can have some lights on, that will be a huge step for us. It is wicked dark out there at night.

Finally getting some notable progress. HVAC is in. Need the gas hooked up to have heat on the main unit but I think the air works. Upstairs unit just needs breakers thrown I think. I wasn't about to mess with them, but I think it is ready to go.

The water line is in up to the house, but not hooked up. We need the plumbers to give the nod before they make the final connection. Septic tanks are set and connected to the house. Pump is in and waiting to be wired. Hopefully they will get it wired and the field lines in tomorrow ahead of the rain. Not sure if they have called for the inspection on it yet or not, but hopefully it will come sooner than later.

And some misc things showed up today that won't go in for a little while, but that didn't stop E from testing out her tub.

Hopefully the HVAC will get wrapped up tomorrow with the propane connection. Most of the electrical is finished, just a handful of fixtures to wrap that up. Biggest issue right now is waiting for the moisture in the sub-floor to reach the magic number so the flooring can go down. Sorry @TeddyBoy still playing the waiting game, but getting closer.

Damn.... Sweet work Tuckers!!

Can't wait for the party.

:)

Thanks Buddy. Hopefully we will be ready for guests in a month or so. Things are starting to move along and I think we may be wrapping things up about mid May.

They got the carpet in upstairs last week, basically just need tile and cabinets in the bathroom and the upstairs will be done.

The septic guy finally got his part finished up and is just waiting on inspections to cover things up. I had him take my rock pile and use it to base the final alignment of the driveway. Just need to have some stone delivered to slick it up a little, but pretty pleased with it.
0415161737_HDR-1.webp

He put a little of the dirt around front, emphasis on "little". I am going to have to rent a skid steer to get all the final grading sorted probably, but that's ok, at least it will be just the way I want it.

And here is one I took a few nights ago with all the lights on on the garage end of the house.

The hardwood has been sitting for about a week and per the installer it has acclimated well and if they had opened all the boxes They would have started install yesterday, so I am pretty sure we will have flooring by mid-week. The tile for the bathrooms should be here this week, so hoping flooring will be close by weeks end, cabinet bases next week sometime so we can measure for tops, then we should be rounding the final turn and getting into the home stretch.

I spent today doing some grading and mowing everything that wasn't dug up in the back yard. Got a helluva farmers tan today, more of a burn really, but after feeling useless for the last month or so, it was good to get something done.

More to come, sooner than later hopefully. :)

Nice dude. Just in time for my return trip from Southern Utah. ;)

You're welcome anytime your thru bud.

How is Rick's rig coming along? Looked like a mess of parts hit the floor this weekend and, from what I saw in your merch thread, still several pieces needed to get dig-dug back on his wheels. I almost texted you guys to ask yesterday, just hate to be that nosey guy.

Hit me up anytime. We got a full tear down done Friday night. Assessed the full scope of damage and started a new small parts list (mostly stuff like "while we in here"). Most parts were available Saturday morning, but a couple are on B/O until midweek. Kitty and I spent Saturday afternoon just cleaning the parts that will go back on. So the rebuild won't resume until Tues/Wed.

*hi-jack off*

Well it's been a couple weeks and I guess about time for an update. Things haven't been moving as fast as I'd hoped, but they are moving. They got the hardwood finished up downstairs and the tile guy started last week. He is almost done with all the tile, just lack a couple cut pieces in the master and the laundry room and then grouting everything. The cabinet guy is supposed to get the bases in this week and we have the granite folks scheduled to measure the tops next monday. So if everything goes to plan we are on track to be moving in about the time GSMTR gets here....

We passed our septic inspection so they started grading today and things are started to take shape. We are going to end up with a couple piles to burn but it is good to see that the place actually coming together.

So finish tile, set cabinets, tops go in, then sinks and faucets and build the deck and we should be looking for our C.O. fingers crossed we are moving the in the last part of the month.

Anyway, here are a few pictures.

I have a few of the hardwood install that I will post in a bit.

Well, grading is done and I just need to put a few hundred pounds of seed and fertilizer down. Miraculously he found enough dirt to pretty much grade the front out very nicely. He also took out most of the trees up front, amazing how much better it looks with the scrubby stuff gone.

All tile is grouted except the laundry room and they ran out of tile. Basically all the flooring is done except the laundry room. And we are still waiting on cabinets.... Damn him, but I'm in that spot where I can pay more and wait longer and hope the new guy is good to his word or I can wait him out, right now I'm just going to wait him out.

Going to have some stone delivered on Saturday to finish up the drive and then work on Hannah's swingset.

Pictures.

So now pretty much everything is sitting on the cabinet guy. When he shows we will be ready to roll along.

Stay tuned.

Well, I got seed and fertilizer this morning along with a spreader. I need to till the ground so I can get get it all spread and raked in before the rain the first of the week.

Didn't get to it today because we finally busted open the boxes marked "little girls play house from last year's birthday" and we spent about 6-7 hours on that. The instructions say it should take 2 people 10-14 hours to assemble and I believe it! I've put a couple of these together and I think this may be one of the best made ones to date. We hopefully will only have a few hours to knock it out tomorrow then I will get on the yard work.

Any way pictures from today.

Yes, as with any structure constructed around my place, concrete footings, all level and square.

Got the floor in.
0507161432_HDR-1.webp

And where we packed it in for the day. We at least got the slide bolted up which seemed to be the highlight of the day.

0507161813a_HDR-1.webp

Tomorrow will be Erin's call, but I'm guessing we will be back out there trying to knock it out.

We are making progress on our side, just need some folks to follow thru on theirs so we can get on with our lives.

Also, couple of the floors that I never got around to posting last week.

Getting close.

Looking great, @jynx. Seems like a different place with all those trees gone and the grading finished. Can't wait for the open house.

Well the cabinet guy showed up and worked with the tooth fairy last night, but the bases are in and they measured for the granite today so we are that much closer. The list is getting fairly short for things left to do. I'm hopeful we are going to be right around the end of the month. Fingers crossed.

Pictures from today.

Uppers, corner and fridge cabinets should be done this weekend, or first of next. Tops hopefully next week, then plumbing, misc trim and a few light fixtures and we should be wrapping things up.

This weekend, I'm taking some time to put my ICONs on the 4Runner since it will be making the GSMTR run this year since I've had NO time to get anything else up and going. So shocks, pull the running boards and do the radiator and other fluids, clean things out and start getting things together.

Not much happened on the house front today, but we did test out the garage.
0514161903_HDR.webp

Plenty of room to spare. Next time @ugamurph is over I'm gonna have him test fit the GX so I will know how one fits since I feel confident one will live there in the future...

If the GX fits in our tiny garage, it's gotta fit in that monstrosity! But, that is all dependent on how much junk you end up covering the floor with. :p

True story, but I have the barn for the junk, so I'm planning to keep this one clean. I've never known what parking "in the garage" is like, but I feel like I'm gonna be ok with it, which means I have to keep my side clean this time. :hillbilly:

Famous last words...
