Yep, you read that right. But I think he is feeling better. I got a text from him today with a bill from the sheetrock guys.

Well, I can't hardly move this morning, but the sump is in. Spent pretty much all day yesterday digging a hole and plumbing the pump all in about 4' of head room and surrounded by muck. But I got it all finished up and she pumps like a champ so I'm pleased.

I got a few more of the inside that I will put up after we get back from church.

Trim package arrived this week and they started the end of the week. Got the doors in and I think they will be doing base and crown this week.

I worked under the house all afternoon putting in some piping and gravel to compliment my sump project. I didn't get any pictures of that as I was just tired of being under there, but Erin did get this one of her tractor stick in the ditch.

Progress is steady but slow. I think next weekend I may see about getting the culvert in the ditch so Erin can cross the ditch without needing assistance to get out.

two weeks and no updates? :p

I was just thinking about that this morning. You joke, but don't bring it up to Erin. Unfortunately the only updates in the last 2 weeks are that the secondary electrical conduit is in and the ditch backfilled, but waiting on the cable to be pulled in. The trim guy did finish the interior doors and trim up and they got the gutters on the end of last week, but that my friends, as they say, Is IT.... Pretty much everything is currently at a stop or stall waiting for the guy to come in and deal up the crawlspace. No HVAC, no flooring, painting, etc will go on until they get the plastic down and can get the moisture down in the house. So we are pretty much in a holding pattern until the crawlspace is sealed up.... And the septic and water stuff is on hold for it to dry out enough to not get the equipment stuck.

So unfortunately the updates will be slow to come until the crawl space is done, then hopefully things will hit road gear.

On a side note I did have them put gutters on the barn while he was out there, so I'm pretty happy about that.

Here are a few pics:

Well we had a pretty productive weekend. Did some brush clearing made sure both ends of the electrical ditch were filled up and got in a culvert across to the back 40 So Erin doesn't have to get the tractor stick again. The painters started and worked both Saturday and today and the crawlspace guy has finally got started. So things are moving along again.

Hopefully we will get electricity this week, the crawlspace will dry out enough to get it sealed and the HVAC will get mostly in. The painters should be done the end of the week and the ground is drying so hopefully the water and sewer will get rolling the end of the week or first of next. @BMThiker maybe you spurred things on ;)

Here are a couple of the interior.

And the biggest accomplishment of the weekend.

IMG_2594.webp

Was gonna be temporay, but we like the way the cedar came out, so probably will just work a footing, cut the bucket off and build a permanent base around it with some stone or something.

Steady progress. Painters are coming along. Try pulled the electrical secondaries and the house is now "hot" and they dug a big hole in the back yard for the septic tanks. And today per my GC they are hanging the Garage doors. I'll have to check on that tomorrow after work.

Things are coming along. Hopefully more to come this weekend.

Better tell Erin to stay away from the latren with the tractor. That one may swallow it.

Anybody wonder what a $2,800 stake looks like?

Paid for the water tap today. Not sure how we get water from the stake, but they've assured me this is what we need ;)

Got to set it tomorrow and they should get the tap set next week. Will add some more updates after we get out tomorrow and check things out.

Painters pretty well finished up today. I got the trailer out and unloaded this morning.

Erin may have gotten some pictures, but I will have to grab some tomorrow.

Also, glad @ugamurph and crew stopped by this afternoon. Hope to have you guys back over when things are finished up. And tell the boys there will always be plenty of puddles to throw rocks in around there.

I will grab a few good shots tomorrow of the inside of the house.

Thanks for the tour. We'll be looking forward to that cookout at the farm. And, thanks for unloading the trailer. It's loaded back up now and waiting for the tranny shop to open up on Monday.

Well, today we just kicked around. Erin mowed for a few hours to try to get ahead of the grass in the back. I marked the water line out and placed my stake so hopefully they will get our meter in this week and the rest of the line will follow soon after. We threw our old sump into the giant hole where the septic tank will go and let it run pretty well all day long. Started at around 1:30 and I went back out at 8:30 to unplug it. Did a jug test and figured it was pumping 6.67 gallons a minute and over the 7 hours it was plugged in that comes to just a little over 2,800 gallons of water pumped out, and there was about 16" left in the bottom... Heck, we used it to rinse off the tractor and I gave the Squirt a quick bath too.

The garage doors complete closing up the house and I have to say, Erin did a good job picking them out.

Hopefully this week will see some good progress.

The biggest thing on my mind these days is who will be cleaning up all the $h!t that has amassed around the house. It is a sad state when you can't get a sub to pick up their trash and carry it the 20' or so to the giant dumpster sitting in the yard. I mean there is trash all over the dam place and I am going to have to talk to the GC about it this week.

Well this week despite having one of the best weeks and the first time we have had 7 consecutive days of dry weather since before Christmas, we had very little progress. The sheetrock guy stopped by to do some minor patch work at some point. Basically yesterday is the only day that anything for done. The Mech guys got the airhandler in upstairs and it looks like they got all the duct work hooked up and they got the railings up around all the porches, but that's it. And while it looks great, it did very little getting us to actually being able to reside there.

Erin and I spent most of today installing hardware on the doors. We have locks and knobs on everything downstairs and we actually locked up the house when we left today. We installed all the hardware they had out there and need a couple more to finish the upstairs. They did deliver most of the lighting fixtures so we put those in the rooms they are to live in.

I am hoping that Monday will see lots of activity, with electrical and HVAC going on along with crawlspace getting sealed up so flooring can be soon to follow.

Pictures from today.

Hopefully we will start to see some things getting wrapped up this week. We will see.

If it ain't in the contract....

Yeah, we had a talk about it this week, should be good, but then again I was hoping to be moving in a couple of weeks so....

Some progress. Again waiting til the end of the week, but I will take it. Plus if Erin can see it then it helps.
